Pincase is yet another great Pinboard client for iOS. It’s $2, it’s universal, and it is ready for iOS 7. Oh, and it looks lovely too. What more could you need for managing and reading your bookmarks. What? You want more? Okay…
Apple has today restored push email services on iOS devices in Germany almost two years after it had to be shut down following a legal battle with Motorola. The Cupertino company announced the change in a new support document, which explains how users can restore push services on their iOS devices.
I’d noticed that calendar events created from the iOS 7 Mail app now contain a clickable URL that links back to the original e-mail message, but what I didn’t know is just how rad this is. Federico “another espresso please” Viticci over at Mac Stories knows exactly how rad it is, though, because he dug in and found out that it’s not only system-wide for iOS 7, but hooks into something similar that the Mac has done for years.
Want to check out the new M7 MoCoPro in your iPhone 5, but don’t have an app to do it? Then check out David Smith’s Pedometer++, a free app which grabs data from the low-power motion-tracking chip and shows it to you.
Belkin’s new Express Dock for iPad lets you dial in the perfect fit for any Lightning iPad, whatever case it’s in. Literally: there’s actually a dial on the back to adjust the dock’s size.
The Hulu Plus apps for Android and iOS have today been updated with support for Google Chromecast. You’ll find a new ‘Cast’ button within the app that will stream your favorite shows to your television with the help of the $35 dongle.
The new GoPro Hero3+ makes jumping out of an airplane in a squirrel suit just a little bit more tempting. The new camera is smaller, faster and apparently much better.
Apple will be “unable” to launch a new iPad mini with Retina display this month due to supply constraints, according to sources in its supply chain, who have been speaking to Reuters. It’s thought the new device will only be available in “limited quantities” this year — if at all — and there’s a possibility it won’t be ready in time for the lucrative holiday shopping season.
Even if you love screen protectors, you probably hate applying them. Even the best bubble-proof tempered-glass covers have to be lined up before pressing them into place, and those wasted seconds are seconds that allow dust to creep twixt screen and cover, to be petrified in place forever like a dinosaur-DNA-carrying fly in amber.
What you need is the Alin, a screen protector with a big plastic guide to line things up for you.
As you may have heard, a lot of users have complained of motion sickness while using their iPhones after upgrading to iOS 7. The new zooming and parallax effects that were added make a lot of people nauseous, but Jimmy Kimmel and his team of researchers have found an amazing new cure for those suffering from iPhone-induced motion sicknesses, it’s called “stop looking at your f**king phone every 5 seconds”
What do you get when you combine everyone’s favorite drawing app for the iPad with everyone’s favorite paper journal? You get an awesome partnership with Paper by FiftyThree and Moleskine.
FiftyThree and Moleskine have created an easy way to take a digital creation and make it a frozen moment in time. The Paper app can now send drawings to Moleskine and have them beautifully printed and shipped in a custom book.
Have you had issues sending or receiving iMessages since you updated to iOS 7? Although Apple claims problems only exist for “a fraction of a percent” of its users, a large number of iMessagers have been complaining about failed messages since iOS 7 was released.
Today Apple acknowledged that iMessage has been having problems, and a fix is coming in a future iOS 7 update.
Finding a gold iPhone 5s at your local Apple Store is no easy task even though it’s been on shelves more than a week now. Rather than calling every single Apple Store, Best Buy, Walmart, and carrier store in your area, our friend Mordy created the awesome iPhone Check web app that tells you if local stores have any gold units in stock.
The simple web app scrapes data from store.apple.com for the most up-to-date info on local pick-up options. Use the drop downs to select the color and carrier you want, press submit and viola! A chart of green and red squares indicate whether a store has stock of 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB units in the color of your choice.
We’ve been seeing leaked parts for the next-gen iPad and iPad mini for awhile now, so you should already have a good idea of what the devices will be like. Expect a thinner and lighter fifth-gen iPad with faster specs, and the second-gen iPad mini will most likely have a Retina display. Apple’s media event for the tablets is expected to take place sometime this month.
Since the release of the iPhone 5s, leaks suggest that Apple will bring the iPhone’s updated color options to its iPads as well. A new round of hands-on videos take a look at the iPad in Space Gray.

Apple just released two firmware updates to address some rare battery issues with the Macbook Pro and Macbook Air lines Tuesday. The firmware can be downloaded directly from Apple’s support website.
The firmware for both models fixes some rare issues with the battery, one of which will shut your Macbook Air down after 1000 charges.
When I went to do the same thing yesterday while taking pictures of my Macbook Air’s trackpad (don’t ask), and instead of a nicely auto-focused picture, I got a bunch of pictures of my (not-moving) trackpad, inadvertently activating what Apple calls “burst mode.”
Here’s how to use it to get action shots on your own iPhone or iPad running iOS 7.
Maybe the coolest, most tech savvy president ever. Photo: The White House
This afternoon President Obama addressed the nation to talk about the recent government shutdown, as well as to promote the rollout of the new U.S. healthcare coverage website that just launched today.
During his remarks President Obama addressed criticisms that HealthCare.gov is full of bugs and loads too slowly. Obama deflected most of the blame toward the more than 1 million people that visited the site before 7AM and bogged down the servers. The President did admit there are a lot of bugs that need to be addressed, but then he used Americas Most Valuable Brand, as an example of why rollouts don’t always go to well by comparing the Healthcare.gov rollout to glitches in iOS 7:
The Bitizens are back, and this time, it’s all about trains! Who doesn’t like trains?
Pocket Trains by NimbleBit Category: iOS Games Works With: iPhone, iPad Price: Free
Fresh off their hit Snake re-imagining Nimble Quest, NimbleBit has turned in a lovely little game that looks and plays a lot like last year’s hit Pocket Planes, with retro pixel art style and transit-themed, schedule-based gameplay. There’s a lot to like in this new iteration, as well, including streamlined mechanics, refined strategies, and updated graphics.
The iPhone 5c is supposed to be Apple’s breakthrough device for the Chinese market – though we’ve heard they’re crazy for gold – so to make the import process quicker and cheaper Apple plans to ship iPhones from supplier Foxconn’s factory directly to China.
I used to keep three keyboards around the place, just to use with my two iPads and my iMac. This was clearly absurd, and I have since settled on the still-excellent Logitech K811, a Bluetooth keyboard which can easily switch between three Bluetooth devices at the touch of a button.
The Kanex Multi-Sync Keyboard offers a similar feature set, but is more geared towards the desktop. It’s pretty good, but won’t replace my K811. Let’s see why.
Carl Icahn finally got his dinner date wish with Tim Cook last night, after the famous billionaire investor took to Twitter a few weeks ago to preach how Wall Street has seriously undervalued AAPL stock. Along with parading his optimism for Apple’s stock, Icahn purchased a major stake in AAPL stock and has been dying for Cupertino to issue more buybacks.
While the iPhone’s Retina display may no longer be king when it comes to pixel count, it’s one of the fastest smartphone displays on the market, easily outpacing all of its rivals.
According to a TouchMark test carried out by Agawi, the Retina display responds more than twice as fast as any of its rivals — including the Galaxy S4 and other high-end Android devices — even on the three-year-old iPhone 4.
Apple is expected to release another minor iOS 7 update next week to address more bugs and early teething problems. The Cupertino company released iOS 7.0.2 late last week to fix a lock screen security vulnerability, but that introduced new problems of its own that are likely to be addressed with iOS 7.0.3.
