Conan Gets Called Out By Fan For Trying To Install iOS 7 On His iPhone 3GS [Video]

By

iPhone3GCOB

Like millions of Apple fanboys across the globe, late-night show host Conan O’Brien could not wait to update his phone to iOS 7 last month, however the results were pretty horrific, and one viewer knows exactly what caused Coco’s hellish experience – the Ginja Ninja tried to install the new OS on his unsupported iPhone 3GS.

Conan fan 4893McLovin noticed Conan’s error on the show and has now been anointed as the first viewer to have successfully challenged Conan on the Fan Correction segment of the show. Not one to be shown up, Coco crafted his own response to the error by showing a hidden segment of Eddie Cue’s presentation at the iOS 7 keynote that revealed the existence of the mystical iPhone 3GCOB.

Cameo Is Vine, But All Grown Up With Muscles, A Flashy Wardrobe And A Hip Music Collection [Daily Freebie]

By

cameo-1

I remember a few tech bloggers going nuts over Vine when it hit the street back in January. I wasn’t convinced; it seemed too limiting, felt too gimmicky. Vine turned out to be a more creative tool than I’d imagined — at least for others. But the concept never really hooked me enough to want to use it.

Cameo, on the other hand, had my juices flowing almost immediately. Like Vine, Cameo shoots short, six-second HD (720p) clips that can be uploaded to Cameo’s website or shared via social media and email. Unlike Vine, multiple six second shots can be combined into a two-minute (maxiumum) clip, with light editing tools, effects and music added to the mix. And Cameo even lets you collaborate with friends.

Fox News Installed A Bunch Of Bizarrely Enormous iPads In Its Newsroom

By

foxgif

Fox News unveiled a first glimpse at its new studio for the Fox News Deck that features some insanely gigantic tablets  that will be used by Fox’s Information Specialist while the Shepard Smith serves up the hottest topics of interest.

The 55-inch Windows-based touchscreens will be used by the crew to sift through rumors on Twitter (four tweets at a time), confirm reports, and spin through Google Earth to deliver an entirely new experience, for better or worse. While the studio could easily morph into an arena for the world’s first televised Angry Birds tournament, Fox says the news deck is designed to appeal to viewers who are “non linear” and sift through news all day on their phones.

Check out this video of Sheppard showing off the new tablets and his Minority Report style 38-foot display.

Samsung Ripped Off Apple’s Original iPhone Ad For Galaxy Gear Launch [Video]

By

samsunggalaxygear

What’d Samsung ripoff from Apple this week? Well, you may have heard that the Galaxy Gear just dropped a few days ago. The reviews have been less than stellar, but to promote its smartwatch Samsung released a commercial that looks a whole lot similar to the very first iPhone commercial Apple dropped at the Oscars in 2007.

The original iPhone ad featured tons of famous movie scenes with someone picking up a phone and saying “hello,” and then a shot of the iPhone was finally shown at the end. Samsung has taken inspiration from Apple and released their own take but all the scenes are people using smartwatches like in Star Trek, Predator, and Inspector gadget.

New Evidence Shows Touch ID Sensor Is A Perfect Fit For Leaked iPad 5 Display [Video]

By

ipadfinger2

Apple may or may not announce an iPad mini with Retina display in a couple weeks, but one thing that’s pretty much a given at this point is Touch ID coming to the iPad and iPad mini.

We haven’t seen any leaked fingerprint sensor components for the upcoming iPad 5 hit the Internet yet, but Unboxing Therapy has done some investigating of its own to see if a Touch ID would fit with some of the leaked components we’ve already seen. The results? You’ll have to see for yourself in the video below, but it looks promising:

There are a bunch of apps out on iOS for kids, from educational apps to sports apps and more. Sure, you can get reviews of these games by adults, sometimes even from parents of kids who use them.

We thought it’d be fun, though, to ask the kids themselves.

Welcome to Kid APProved, a series of videos in which we ask our own children what they think of apps on the App Store that they’re using.

This week, it’s highlights, game stats, player news, and all sorts of Football fun with NFL Mobile, from NFL Enterprises. Here’s what our Kid APProved reporters think.

By

iPad-Smart-Cover

With the fifth-generation iPad set to feature a new design based on the smaller, sleeker iPad mini, Apple’s existing lineup of iPad Smart Covers aren’t going to fit it. But fear not, Smart Cover fans — Apple is already working on new models that will fit the iPad 5’s smaller chassis. Check them out in the hands-on video below.

Gold iPhone 5s Gets Into A Gunfight With A .50 Cal Rifle – Guess Who Wins? [Video]

Now that everyone has had a solid day or three to play with their shiny new iPhones, the Internet is ready with its customary wave of iPhone destruction videos.

We’ve already seen a number of durability tests, but RatedRR takes its testing to the extreme with its annual iPhone X vs .50 Cal Rifle test. The slo-mo shot of the bullet splitting the length of the gold iPhone 5s is pretty spectacular, if not the perfect celebration of American Consumerism, but why don’t they mix it up with like a bazooka, or ion cannon, or wheelchair-bomb once in a while?

The launch of the iPhone 5c went really well this weekend. So to keep you in remembrance of everything that is holy and fun with the new iPhone 5c, Apple released two new ads this morning showcasing the colorful sides of its iPhone 5c users.

The new ad called “Greetings” zips through a number of scenes of people saying “hello” in different languages on their iPhone 5c. An extended version of the ad was also released and can be viewed below:

How To Force The iPhone 5S To Export Your Slow-Motion Videos In Slo-Mo

By

Just like the filters in the iOS 7 camera app, the super slo-mo mode in the iPhone 5S is somewhat confusing when it comes to exporting your work. In fact, it’s almost impossible to get your slowed down masterpieces out of the iPhone and onto sharing services without some rather janky workarounds. But thanks to Macworld’s Serenity Caldwell, we now at least know about these tricks.

Jony Ive And iOS 7 Just Ruined This Kid’s Day [Video]

By

post-246366-image-d8177a847b20f57e70ca6917edcba0c5-jpg

iOS 7 came out yesterday and if early adoption numbers are any indication, people love the hell out of it. Well, everyone except one young kid who hates that Jony Ive just changed everything. Check out the video Derek Colling posted to YouTube of his sons reaction to iOS 7.

Colling said he knew his son would be surprised, but a full-on mourning of Forstall’s fine green felts and leather stitchings came as a bit of a surprise. But hey, when you’re a kid and the smallest of changes feels colossal, is it too much to ask that your Angry Birds playing device have the same UI consistency throughout your tenure at pre-school? #firstworldproblems

Burberry Puts iPhone 5s Slow-Mo Video On Full Display At London Fashion Show [Video]

Touch ID is getting a lot of the attention among the iPhone 5s’ new features, but Burberry’s creative director Christopher Bailey has been obsessing over one Jony Ive’s other new additions to the iPhone 5s: Slow-mo.

Apple and Burberry teamed up for fashion week in London and shot Burberry’s entire Spring/Summer 2014 fashion show using nothing but the iPhone 5s for video and photos, the results of which are pretty damn impressive. Slow-mo makes a number of appearances in the full video posted below as the camera switches from 120FPS and then back to 30FPS with relative ease while recording. Pretty spectacular for a mere smartphone.

Instagram is going to be flooded with millions of half-assed slow-mo videos in just a few short days, but Burberry posted a couple of short slow-mo clips to Instagram as well that you can check out below :

Microsoft Takes Aim At The iPhone 5c With Its Own Bad Parody Video [Update]

By

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 4.29.37 PM

Update: Microsoft got the message that the video sucks, and it has been pulled.

The Apple parody video fad has been a bit played out the past couple years, but Microsoft thinks its got the comedic chops to take on the iPhone 5c and convince you to switch over to its struggling line of Windows Phones. The company’s WindowsPhone channel on YouTube just released a parody video depicting two stumped iPhone designers who just sit around a conference room table tossing out different color ideas to a pensive Tim Cook.

You would think a multi-billion dollar company like Microsoft could afford some better video production, or at least have the cash to hire a decent writer, but instead we’re left with leprechaun jokes and a plastic fork.

Want an iPhone 5c parody video that’s actually funny? Our pal John Elerick and his crew of Apple bashers are back this year with two banned iPhone promo videos for the iPhone 5c and 5s. Get your laughs in after the jump:

New iPhone 5s To Hit Runway At Chavvy Burberry Show

By

burberry

Did you know Sir Jony Ive is a huge Burberry fan? True story. He went to London this past summer to see the runway fashion show put on by Burberry, as you can see in the photo to the right.

Interestingly, Apple on Thursday announced a surprise collaboration with Burberry, a London fashion brand sometimes unfortunately associated with lowlifes, known in Britain as “chavs.”

Ive will certainly be happy today* to hear that Burberry is teaming up with Apple to use the not-yet-released iPhone 5s to capture and share images and video from the upcoming runway show in London, taking place this coming Monday, September 16.

This new collaboration is inteded to showcase the new clothing line, of course, but also to show how great the iPhone 5s iSight camera is, with it’s new, larger pixels, exposure area, and lens. It will allow photographers at Burberry to take high quality photos and high resolution video of the runway models, product details, and moments backstage.

Just imagine all the slo-mo.
