You may not have ever heard of him, but Apple TV+ has a lot riding on Michael Ellenberg.

As the executive producer of The Morning Show, Ellenberg’s unproven production company was the first to score a multi-season deal for Apple TV+. In a recent interview with Variety, Ellenberg discussed how ’90s morning TV shows inspired The Morning Show along with the pressure of developing two more shows for Apple TV+.

Apple’s first night at the Golden Globes didn’t go exactly as Tim Cook may have hoped — with none of the nominations for Apple TV+ show The Morning Show resulting in award wins. Adding insult to injury, returning host Ricky Gervais quipped that Apple used sweatshops to make its products. And even drew parallels to terrorist group ISIS.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association today revealed that Apple original The Morning Show has been nominated for multiple Golden Globes, including best television drama series.

The news comes hours after the Critics’ Choice Awards nominated Billy Crudup, who plays Cory Ellison in The Morning Show, as the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Apple TV+ series The Morning Show just earned its first award nomination. Billy Crudup, who plays cocky network head Cory Ellison, is up for Best Supporting Actor in the Critics’ Choice Awards.

Crudup is up against Peter Dinklage, who played Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones, and Tim Blake Nelson, who plays Wade Tillman in HBO’s hot new action drama Watchmen.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the audience score currently stands at 95%. The critic score, meanwhile, languishes at 63%. Early reviews were particularly harsh, labelling the show as a “painful bellyflop.”

Just in time for Halloween, Apple TV+ is serving up two new teasers of its mysterious new series called Servant.

Created by M. Night Shyamalan, Servant follows a married couple who cope with the loss of their child by buying a therapy doll. Details on the show are being kept under wraps, including Rupert Grint’s enigmatic character Julian Pierce. Judging from the trailers and teasers we’ve seen so far though, a lot of weird stuff is about to go down.
