Accept no imitations! Reader Rob Kearney wrote us to claim ownership of the genius that came up with the original “i Went Drinking With Gray Powell And All I Got Was A Lousy iPhone Prototype” t-shirt. And he can prove it!

Hate to be a bore, but I am the creator of the “original” Gray Powell iPhone t-shirt (if you can call any shirt that uses the “all I got was this lousy ____” motif original). I have been selling them on Zazzle.com since 4/19. This was the very first time I’ve come up with a crappy opportunistic idea and managed to get it out in the wild before anyone else. For this underachievement, my mom is quite proud. But with any minor success (and I do mean minor, to the tune of exactly 18 shirts sold), there will be knockoffs.
If you look closely at the Woz pic attached, you will see that the one you link to in Daily Deals, which is being sold by tanga.com, uses a completely different type face. They couldn’t even come up with their own wording…

Surely you’d rather your readers buy THE Woz owned “original”, no?
But of course! If it’s good enough for the Woz, it’s good enough for us! If you want an obnoxious novelty shirt, buy one from Rob. This is the kind of fashion statement that is timeless.
