When Apple unveils its latest earnings report Tuesday, some analysts think the numbers may be even better than expected.

Q3 is usually Apple’s weakest quarter of the year as the iPhone sales cycle starts to come to an end. However, this week’s call may hold a number of surprises and hints about the 2018 iPhone lineup as Apple gives investors guidance on next quarter. As usual, Cult of Mac will liveblog the entire call with all the pithy analysis we can muster.

The official Google Street View app has been updated to take full advantage of the iPhone X’s stunning Super Retina HD display.

Future iPhone cameras could soon rival the pixel count of high-end DSLRs thanks to a new 48 megapixel sensor created by Sony.

The iPhone X’s ugly notch could pave the way for Apple to dominate the smart glasses market.

Augmented reality glasses are poised to become the hottest tech gadget of the next decade and Apple’s already laying the foundation with the iPhone X. It may not seem like the two will be directly related, but this clever concept shows how the key lays in the TrueDepth camera hidden in the notch.

Apple will offer the 2018 iPhone lineup in a range of stunning new color options, according to one reliable analyst.

Grey, blue, red, and orange will be some of the shades available when the new devices go on sale this fall. The largest of the three, dubbed iPhone XI Plus in some reports, will be offered in gold.

Samsung sent the press invites to its next big launch event today where the company will likely reveal its new Galaxy Note 9 smartphone. The event is set up to give Samsung a jump on Apple’s 2018 iPhone lineup that will likely be unveiled the month after.

The advertising regulatory body in the UK ruled that Apple can say that the  iPhone X takes “studio-quality portraits.”

An ad for this smartphone promised “Radically new cameras with Portrait Lighting. Studio-quality portraits. Without the studio.” However, this brought two complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
