macOS Mojave 10.14.1 makes Group FaceTime available to all

Apple has introduced a fairly significant update for macOS Mojave. This isn’t just some bug fix tweak — version 10.14.1 brings fun new features.

The most significant of these is Group FaceTime. Updates released today for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch also support this group-calling feature for the first time.

Beta testing for macOS 10.14.1 began the day after the launch of its predecessor, macOS Mojave. A month later, the release of this new version could be drawing close.

Developers just got their hands on the fifth beta. Which might be the last.

iOS 12.1 gets fourth beta, along with tvOS and watchOS

Apple has settled into a steady pace of seeding to developers betas of its operating systems. Near the beginning of each week, expect updated pre-release versions of iOS 12.1, watchOS 5.1, and tvOS 12.1. Today is the fourth round.

These include some hotly-anticipated features, but leave Apple Watch Series 4 users up on the air.

Apple isn’t wasting time getting out the next versions of all its operating systems. Yesterday, it introduced fresh betas of iOS 12.1, macOS 10.14.1, and tvOS 12.1 just for developers, and today these are all available to the general public.

This is the second round of betas of all this pre-release software. It comes two weeks after the initial round.

The tool Apple built to help Windows users switch to a Mac underwent significant improvements in the latest beta of maxcOS Mojave. It can now transfer accounts and documents from Microsoft Outlook.

This is the major change in macOS Mojave beta 6, which was released to developers yesterday.
