The iPhone XR won’t be available in stores until next month, but you can already grab the colorful new wallpapers for your old iPhone right now.
Unlike the oil wallpapers on the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, some of the wallpapers for the iPhone XR come with multiple bubbles and match the color schemes of Apple’s new device. Just open this page on your iPhone, long press on each image and save them to your camera roll so you can turn them into a wallpaper.

The default wallpaper for the new iPhone XS models is undoubtedly beautiful. But that’s clearly not why Apple chose it. It can’t be a coincidence that the black region of the image is perfectly placed to hide the screen cutout.
Apple isn’t denying the existence of the notch in the two most expensive of the 2018 iPhones, but it’s certainly trying to de-emphasize it.

One feature that didn’t get mentioned during this week’s iPhone event is the fact that the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR models let users scan NFC tags without requiring an app running in the background.
This means that places such as museums, retail stores, and other locations which make use of NFC tags can utilize them more readily — or, at least, that iPhone users can access them more easily. Instead of having to launch an app that puts your iPhone in NFC Reader mode, just walk up and scan any compatible tag. Easy, right?
There is a lot for everyone to like in the 2018 iPhone models. But T-Mobile and Sprint customers have additional reasons to upgrade to the latest iOS devices: they’re the first to support some of these carriers’ wireless technologies.

Any mobile photographer wearing an Apple Watch likely received a notification about an irregular heartbeat as they watched Phil Schiller talk this morning about the iPhone Xs series’ new camera.
Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, flashed several stunning images on the screen during today’s Gather Round keynote at the Steve Jobs Theater. The images showed depth, detail and colors not seen from previous-gen iPhones, including the current flagship iPhone X.

A huge Apple leak has today confirmed all kinds of juicy details about its new products hours before their official unveiling — including the sizes of the new Apple Watch. It’s bad news for those who were big fans of the 38mm model.
The names of Apple’s next-generation smartphones have been leaked on the company’s own website hours ahead of today’s big keynote. iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and iPhone Xr were all mentioned in a product sitemap XML file, which Apple has since pulled.
The file also revealed the long list of color options for the iPhone Xr, and confirmed the device will have a 6.1-inch display with up to 256GB of storage.
There’s less than 24 hours to go until Apple’s official trailers for the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XC are available for the masses to view. Until then, this concept trailer is the next best thing.

The 2018 iPhone lineup is shaping up to be the most colorful Apple ever put out, based on new leaked images of alleged SIM card trays destined for the iPhone 9 (or iPhone Xr or Xc — whatever Apple calls it).
Photos of the SIM card trays surfaced on Twitter this morning. It’s hard to tell if they’re legit. But if they are indeed destined for Apple’s cheaper 6.1-inch iPhone model, there will be at least five color options to choose from. Including brown!
