Snapchat has promised to make changes to its app after a Change.org petition attracted more than 1.2 million signatures from disgruntled users.

Snap has endured growing backlash from fans following a controversial redesign, with many calling for the company to revert to its old user interface. Now the company says it is planning adjustments to the Friends and Discover sections.

The Discover page on Snapchat has always felt like a disjointed experience from the rest of the app, but starting today Snapchat is rolling out a major update that changes the way you interact with Live Stories from publishers and your friends.

The new design makes previews in the Discover tab a more visual experience by giving publishers the ability to add an image and headline to promote stories. In an effort to get more people to start viewing publisher’s stories, the previews are now located on the Stories page.

Good news, Discover credit and debit users! The company today announced that, from this fall, it will enable Apple Pay support across the United States.

This means that Discover customers with a Apple Pay-enabled iPhone or Apple Watch will have the ability to add their card to the mobile payment service — for use in all Apple Pay-accepting retailers.

If you thought the heat of the mobile payments industry might cool a bit after weeks of major announcements like the Square/Starbucks partnership, the launch of a new mobile payment company dubbed MCX by several national retail chains, and PayPal’s trial of in-restaurant payments at McDonald’s locations in France, think again.

PayPal announced the biggest partnership yet in the U.S. mobile payments market today – a deal with Discover that will bring PayPal in-store payment to seven million locations next spring.
