Regret upgrading to iOS 5.1 and losing your jailbreak? Yeah, me too. But thankfully, Pod2g and his team of iOS hackers have now discovered all of the exploits required for the iOS 5.1 jailbreak.
A new jailbreak tweak called Curiosa lets you see incoming Cydia updates in the iOS 5 Notification Center. Instead of having to open the Cydia app and refresh for changes, new updates will be pushed as notifications for you to quickly view and open.
Developed by prominent jailbreak dev Ryan Petrich, Curiosa is available for free in Cydia now. It comes with some nice features to enhance its functionality.
MyWi is widely regarded as one of the best jailbreak utilities for the iPhone, allowing users to turn their smartphone into a Wi-Fi hotspot and share its data connection with other devices without paying additional carrier charges. Enter the HackStore, which hopes one day to be as synonymous with user-empowered Macs as Cydia is with jailbroken iOS devices.
In what may just be the speediest jailbreak ever, Dev Team uberlord MuscleNerd has confirmed that he has already jailbroken the iPad 2 and Apple A5X SoC.
Apple released iOS 5.1 to the public on March 7th, and jailbreakers with A4-based iOS devices like the iPhone 4 were able to perform a tethered jailbreak shortly after the firmware hit. If you’ve got a jailbroken iOS device that you can’t upgrade to iOS 5.1, then you may have installed Apple’s new iPhoto app unofficially. The problem with this is, the app only supports the iOS 5.1 firmware, and you’re likely to run into some compatibility issues that cause iPhoto to crash and freeze every so often.

America’s first jailbreak convention is scheduled to take place on September 29th, 2012 at the South San Francisco Conference Center in California. The guys behind JailbreakCon, formerly known as MyGreatFest, have also announced the convention’s star-studded speaker lineup.
The creator of Cydia, the jailbreak equivalent to Apple’s App Store, will be headlining the event again. The convention kicked off in London, U.K. last year to warm reception from the rest of the jailbreak community. Expect even better things from JailbreakCon 2012!

We told you yesterday that Path was secretly uploading your iPhone’s entire address book to its servers. Users of the inclusive social network voiced concern, and many decided to remove the app entirely until Path addresses the issue in an upcoming update.
