With no sign of the next George R.R. Martin book on the horizon, and the end in sight for the acclaimed TV show adaptation, Game of Thrones need to get their songs of fire and ice wherever they can.

Fortunately, Warner Brothers has delivered in this area by finally announcing a release date for the upcoming mobile game Game of Thrones: Conquest. Developed by Turbine, Conquest is an MMO strategy game, set to land in the App Store later this month. Check out the trailer below.

Super Mario Run gets big price cut as new content arrives

If you’ve not tried Nintendo’s Super Mario Run game yet, the company has an offer it hopes may be able to lure you in: a half price sale, along with the addition of all-new game elements.

From today through October 12, Super Mario Run will set users back just $4.99 for every level. The update, meanwhile, adds support for a new character called Daisy, and an extra nine levels, which are playable once you’ve completed the existing stages.

Pokémon GO developers Niantic have debuted three new Legendary Pokémon in the popular augmented reality game.

The trio of Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, from the Gold, Silver and Crystal incarnations of the game, are arguably the best Legendary Pokémon yet. Although to catch ’em all you’re going to need to shell out for some plane tickets. (Or exhibit a bit of patience!)

For my money, Death Road to Canada is one of the best games to have landed on iOS in recent times. A crazy mash-up of randomly-generated zombie survival RPG, actioner, and text-based interactive fiction game, it’s a combination that totally shouldn’t work, but — like peanut butter and jelly — totally does.

And now it’s just got a massive update to more a great game even, well, greater. Check out the trailer below.

Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition gets three new characters this week

Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition landed on iOS last month and, true to its promise, it’s already introducing updates designed to keep the gaming experience fresh.

This week, the game will introduce fan favorite characters Evil Ryu, Guy, and Gouken, all of whom will be available to players as free downloads.

Classic Sega platformer Ristar is reborn on iOS

What better way to close out the week than by reliving the glory days of 1995 with Ristar, a newly released iOS port of the classic Sega Genesis game?

Released as part of the retro Sega Forever collection, the free-to-download game is a classic side-scrolling platformer in the Sonic the Hedgehog mold — only with less focus on speed, and more on utilizing the hero’s stretchy arms in a variety of ways.

Nineteen years after it arrived on the first-generation PlayStation console, RayCrisis, a.k.a. the final installment in Taito’s 1990s trilogy of awesome scrolling shooters, has landed on iOS.

The first two installments of the series, RayForce and RayStorm actually arrived in the App Store waaaaay back in 2012, but RayCrisis has been mysteriously missing in action. Now, finally, it’s possible to get the whole threesome on your iOS device!
