Like wrecks over racing? Carmageddon: Crashers is for you

It's a mobile game of chicken. Kind of!

If you’ve ever found yourself enjoying the crashing sections of racing games more than, you know, the racing bits, Carmageddon: Crashers may be for you.

It’s essentially a version of the game chicken, in which two cars drive at one another, with one swerving out of the way at the last minute. Except that in this version, no-one swerves!

The cars itself are the kind of superpowered beasts you’d expect to find in Mad Max: Fury Road. The goal is to charge headlong into the other car, obliterating their car, while yours stays in tact. To do this depends on you shifting gears at the right moment to pick up the maximum amount of speed possible.

Seeing as this is a mobile game, you can also (of course!) get various upgrades which will improve your ability to death proof your vehicle.

No, this isn’t the deepest game around, but if you’re looking for a fun time-waster on the commute to work, it could turn out to be what you’re after. (Although it’s worth noting that you need online connectivity to play it.) I’ve enjoyed the Carmageddon series for years and, while this more closely resembles a mini game than a fully-realized title, it’s still got its own unique charm.

You can download it at the link below. It’s free to download, but in-app purchases are available. Happy crashing!
