The lines to buy an iPhone 4S are forming across the US with the East coast getting a head start and only 16 minutes before Apple Stores open in the Central Time Zone. By now Apple has issued the proverbial golden tickets to anxious iPhone 4S buyers in those lines. Are you one of the lucky ticket holders?
Apple’s made another good PR decision this week in regards to AppleCare+ and the policy about the requirement that you had to buy AppleCare+ at the same time as your iPhone 4S or iPhone 4 8GB model. If you are a long time Apple customer like I am you were surprised to find out that you had to buy the two together since this isn’t the norm for AppleCare. Usually you could add AppleCare to any Apple hardware product as long as it was still under the first year warranty.
The change caused a stir among Apple’s customers so the company changed the policy, but only until November 14, 2011.

Each year, the lines for Apple’s iPhone become more of a circus. Last year, it was pro line-sitter Greg Packer at the head of the line, giving tons of TV interviews.
This year, app developer Dillon Horowitz has brought a cow, a calf and a goat to Apple’s flagship NYC store.
Here’s something that I won’t know is real or not until I receive my iPhone 4S tomorrow, but never the less it’s funny and entertaining at the same time. So without further adieu its Shit That Siri Says from the website with the same name more after the break.

With the iPhone 4S now available on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint, many consumers are wondering which carrier offers the best deal. New customers have lots of options on the table for selecting an iPhone 4S. There are also customers considering moving to a new carrier once their current contract expires.
AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint all offer competing voice and data plans for the iPhone 4S that make it difficult to decide on which carrier to choose. Let’s try and figure out which carrier offers the cheapest plans for US iPhone 4S customers.
The iPhone has been good to Pegatron Technologies. The Taiwan-based hardware manufacturer, along with Foxconn, supplies Apple with iPhones and iPads. The company recently announced received orders from the Cupertino, Calif. tech giant for 15 million iPhone 4S handsets, up from 10M orders previously expected. More than 2 million of the new iPhones will ship during the fourth quarter
Alongside the unveiling of its iPhone 4S at an event in Cupertino on October 4, Apple announced a brand new service called Find My Friends. Similar to Find My iPhone, Find My Friends allows you to see where you friends are based on the GPS location of their iOS device. Ahead of the launch of iOS 5 later today, Apple has made the Find My Friends application available, but you won’t find it in the App Store.
We’ve seen the first rash of iPhone 4 reviews coming in, and they all agree on one thing: Siri is very impressive.
It works because it does several things all at once. It understands what you’re saying, irrespective of your accent, and without a lot of initial training. And it understands what you mean, because it has the built-in smarts to know that if you say “Tell my wife I’m running late,” you mean “Send a text message to this particular contact with text that says I’m running late.”
But this is just the start for Siri (which Apple’s acknowledged by calling it a beta). The iPhone 4S is the first Apple device that supports it – it certainly won’t be the last. Where might Siri go next?
If you’re buying your new CDMA iPhone 4S through Sprint, then you’ll be pleased to know that the device will come unlocked — allowing you to stick in any SIM and use the device on any network. If you’ve ordered a Verizon device, however, it will come locked to Verizon, but you can request to have it unlocked after 60 days.
Sure, the new iPhone 4S has a brand-spanking new iOS 5, the endlessly cool Siri voice-recognition and HD-quality digital camera. But perhaps the most exciting feature for Apple is the 71 percent to 73 percent profit margin on each handset sold – and there should be millions, one analyst said.
While Apple may not be all too happy about it, some German customers are ecstatic today having received their iPhone 4S pre-orders three days before the device is scheduled to launch.
The first GeekBench benchmarks for Apple’s new iPhone 4S prove that dual-core A5 processor makes this baby a super speedy smartphone. Thought your iPhone 4 was quick? The new iPhone is about 68% quicker!
Following its unveiling of the iPhone 4S on October 4, Apple published a gallery of photographs taken with the device’s 8-megapixel camera. The results were stunning — so good, in fact, that many criticized the company for editing the photos before they were posted. However, this awesome image of a one dollar bill has not been edited, and it’s amazing.
Boy Genius Report has an interesting scoop on how Sprint and Apple will be handling the upcoming iPhone 4S launch this Friday, October 14th.
Apple is well-known for keeping its unreleased products under lock and key, and the 4S launch is no exception. Those that were lucky enough to pre-order the iPhone 4S during the initial rush last Friday will get the product delivered to their doorstep when it becomes available in stories Friday.
So Apple didn’t announce that all-new iPhone 5 you were so desperately longing for, but the good news is, you can use your current stock of iPhone 4 cases with your new iPhone 4S, right? Wrong!
While Apple’s new iPhone looks the same as its predecessor, there’s a very subtly difference that may mean some cases won’t fit it.
References in Apple’s iOS 5 software sparked speculation over the weekend that suggested an upcoming refresh to the Apple TV could introduce the company’s latest dual-core processor. While that would allow the device to playback content in 1080p, it could also pave the way for a Siri assistant on our TVs.
Sprint has a $7 per month Total Equipment Protection Plan allows you to get your device replaced if you drop it on the hard ground, in the toilet, or accidentally blow it up with an explosive device. Seems like a good thing to sign yourself up for if you’re getting a Sprint iPhone, right?
Wrong, for two reasons. One: Sprint isn’t offering the Total Equipment Protection Plan for the iPhone 4S. Two? AppleCare + does the same thing, and at only $99, costs less overall than $7 a month over twenty four months.
We’d have been more interested in this a couple of weeks ago, but the guys over at AppV managed to get their hands on a new iPhone 4S and have done a short video walkthrough of the device, demonstrating the Siri settings interface which allows you to turn voice control on and off, change your Language Settings, adjust Voice Feedback and enable Raise to Speak mode. That’s a new revelation: although Apple’s Siri promo videos hinted at it, this is the first time I recall an accelerometer controlled “Raise to Speak” mode confirmed.
There’s also an early benchmark of Mobile Safari, which proves that the iPhone 4S renders pages about twice as fast as the iPhone 4, which was already pretty much the fastest web browsing experience on the block. The ‘S’ in iPhone 4S does stand for speed, after all.
A gang of 14 thieves arrived on mopeds to raid Apple’s flagship store in Covent Garden, London, in the early hours of this morning and made off with a handful of valuable Macs and iOS devices. Robert Shoesmith, a man who is already camping out for the iPhone 4S, was woken up when the store’s alarm went off at around 1:15 AM.
A number of lucky customers who pre-ordered the iPhone 4S on Friday, October 7, are already receiving shipping notices to say that their devices on the way — 4 days before the device is scheduled to launch. The orders are available for tracking via UPS with expected delivery dates ahead of this Friday, however, don’t expect your package to arrive early.
Despite criticism from journalists and industry analysts, the iPhone 4S saw a record-breaking amount of pre-order sales yesterday on AT&T.
AT&T has said that initial demand for the iPhone 4S has resulted in the most successful iPhone launch in the carrier’s history. The nation’s largest wireless carrier has reported 200,000 iPhone 4S pre-orders in the first 12 hours of availability.
