The best iPhone docks for everyone

Everyone has different tastes, budgets and use cases. We tried to come up with five docks that meet almost anybody’s needs, whether you just need one that’s affordable or demand ultimate functionality. Spending more than $100 on a stand for an iPhone seems utterly perposterous to us. You can pay way more than that for some exclusively handcrafted docks, but we capped the spending limit at one hundred bucks to help maintain sanity.

If you just dropped a grand on a brand new iPhone, do you really want to spend another hundred bucks just for a dock? Probably not. Aerb’s bamboo iPhone dock looks great for its $6 price tag and it’s more functional than most docks on the market. It can hold your iPhone while also juicing up your Apple Watch, keeping clutter and wire tangling on your desk to a minimum.

Mophie Desktop Dock

Not only does Mophie make some of our favorite charging cases for iPhone, they also do a pretty dang good job at making docks too. The Desktop Dock is the best one they make. It works all the latest iPhones from the iPhone 5 and up and has a pivoting Lightning connector so it even works if you got a big bulky case on your device. Ironically, Mophie’s own battery pack cases down work with the dock though so you’ll have to go with other options if you like this dock.

For those that like to be surrounded by leather-bound books in their apartment that smells of rich mahogany, this is the dock for you. Custom made in Portland Oregon, these beautiful docks are one of a kind. The dock weighs a whopping 3lbs so it’s super stable. Each dock is hand finished and the wood grain looks unique on all of them. It’s not exactly cheap and it doesn’t work well with some cases, but it’s one of the most stylish options you’re going to find.

HiRise 2 Deluxe

This is the Swiss Army Knife of docks. Yes, the HiRise will charge pretty much any iPhone. But it can also be used to charge an iPad, Siri remote, Magic Mouse or Magic Keyboard. Basically, anything that’s got a Lightning connector it can charge.

With its height-adjusting cable clips and adjustable rear support, HiRise can work with most cases on the market. Its unique design doesn’t block the speakers so you can still enjoy music while it’s charging your iPhone. And if you want to charge a non-Apple product, you can change the Lightning connector to Micro-USB, making it Android-friendly as well.

Elevation Dock 3

This one is for serious dock buyers.

The Elevation Dock 3 is the crème de la crème of docks. And it carries a big pricetag to prove it up too. For $100 you get one of the most well-built iPhone docks on the market. Each dock is individually CNC milled from one piece of aluminum. It’s heavy and won’t tip over like Apple’s dock and plays well with cases of all sizes.

On the bottom of the Elevation Dock 3 you’ll find a little NanoPad that air vacuums it to your desk making undocking a breeze. It also comes with silicone bumpers to support your iPhone when docked. If you get a bigger case, just flip the pad over to make more room in the slot.
