Jetpack Joyride+ launched on Apple Arcade Friday, allowing subscribers to play the classic game without the hassle of in-app purchases.

Strap on a jetpack and fly through an endless runner. Or ride a mechanical dragon or giant mech while wearing a crazy costume — the game offers all these modes.

Jetpack Joyride+ is as fun as you remember

As Halfbrick Studios says, “It’s time to join Barry Steakfries and equip the coolest jetpacks, suit up in stylish costumes and ride crazy vehicles in his endless running quest to beat the scientists to the end of the lab.”

Players need to dodge obstacles and collect coins as fast as they can, but be sure to take time to enjoy the sheer wackiness of the whole game.

The major difference between Jetpack Joyride+ and the original version is that loads of in-app purchases have been stripped out. These aren’t allowed in Apple Arcade. And mystery loot boxes are banned, too.

Play it and other classic games on Apple Arcade

Jetpack Joyride+ is available now in the Apple Arcade section of the App Store. There are versions for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, but not Mac. The original edition of the game is still available, too.

This isn’t the only classic game jumping onto Apple’s subscription gaming service. There’s Tetris Beat plus Angry Birds Reloaded, Alto’s Odyssey: The Lost City and Doodle God Universe. And more classic titles were added to Apple Arcade this spring, including Monument Valley and Fruit Ninja Classic.
