I ran across UrbanEars at CES 2011 and really like what I saw at their booth. I love all the headhphone colors they offer and their minimalist design angle—they're like the American Apparel of the headphone world.
Here's a quick unboxing and review of the (Green) Urbanears Plattan headphones with iPhone control and microphone.

hey everyone Aon Elijah here cam.com

welcome to another episode of comtv in
0:06
this episode of comtv I'm going to be
0:08
talking
0:09
about Urban
0:11
ears platan platins I knew I was going
0:15
to get that name wrong the urban ears
0:17
lines are unique in that they come in a
0:19
variety of colors their attention to
0:21
detail is really nice their packaging is
0:23
nice the materials in the headphones are
0:26
nice they're designed in a very
0:27
understated way so I thought what I do
0:30
here is a quick unboxing so you can see
0:33
what's inside the box and then I'm going
0:35
to put these things um through the test
0:38
for about a week or so and report back
0:40
on the things I like things that I don't
0:41
like so you can decide if you would like
0:44
to spend your hard earned money on a
0:47
pair for yourself all right let's get
0:48
this box open so we got the front
0:51
here got the
0:55
back oh that's kind of
0:58
cool
1:04
wow I like the way this box opens and it
1:07
looks
1:08
like this little piece comes out like
1:12
this the uh stereo cable um and then um
1:16
microphone adapter that you can put on
1:18
there this one is for the neutral
1:22
plug and
1:25
uh noia compatible oh these are uh
1:29
designed in
1:30
Sweden this makes much the Nokia
1:33
compatible cable makes much more sense
1:34
now then
1:36
a little catalog in here all right so
1:40
I've been using these Urban ear platens
1:42
for about 3 to 4 weeks now the Judgment
1:45
these are really good allaround
1:47
headphones yeah they look good they
1:50
sound good too the highs and mids uh
1:53
sound true they sound good the lows
1:56
usually sound good it will depend on the
1:57
type of music that you're listening to
2:00
sometimes they kind of sounded a bit
2:01
muddy that's a problem with a lot of
2:03
different headphones didn't really irk
2:05
me that bad a couple of cool features
2:06
are built into these that are worth
2:09
mentioning um you get a little iPod
2:13
iPhone control right here with a button
2:14
so you can control your uh your tracks
2:16
and pausing and all that type of thing
2:18
and it also has a microphone so
2:21
hypothetically you could use these for a
2:23
phone call um on your iPhone or your
2:25
iPod or whatever that really sounds good
2:27
in theory but it doesn't work so well
2:29
because because none of your own voice
2:31
is going to get piped into these so what
2:33
ends up happening is because these are
2:35
kind of sound isolating which is good
2:36
when you're listening to music is you
2:39
can't hear yourself so you end up
2:40
talking really loud not so cool
2:42
especially if you're in an office or
2:43
something so I would probably use these
2:45
uh for a phone call and a pinch but
2:48
other than that that feature doesn't
2:49
really do it for me oh one more cool
2:51
feature little audio jack right there uh
2:55
so if you're watching a movie on your
2:56
iPad watching a movie on your iPhone and
2:58
somebody wants to listen to it with you
3:00
or watch it with you all they need to do
3:01
is plug right in boom now you both have
3:03
the same audio this could be really cool
3:05
if you're listening to music with
3:06
somebody you could chain these along and
3:09
look ridiculous but it'll work great I'm
3:11
sure I love the design of these things
3:13
everything on here looks really good
3:15
there's little details like this little
3:18
uh this little Jack right here on the
3:20
tip even the bands that that are on here
3:23
match the color on this some of you are
3:25
going to think that's ridiculous I
3:27
really like it it shows attention to
3:28
detail the Box is really nice you may
3:30
not care about that I really like that
3:32
too but the most important thing is they
3:34
sound good they're great allaround
3:35
headphones I would definitely recommend
3:37
these I will put some information in the
3:40
uh in the post on how you can get a pair
3:41
of these yourself I'm Aon Elijah guys
