Doppler 2 — Music Player

Doppler 2 is the sequel to Doppler, a replacement music app for iPhone and iPad. The main reason to use this over the stock music app is that it lets you add music direct to its library, whereas the built-in Music app still requires using iTunes or the Mac Music app to do this. Doppler also imports your regular music library, so you keep everything together.

LaunchCuts

LaunchCuts takes the mess that is the native Shortcuts app, and cleans it up. You can collect shortcuts into folders and smart folders, use keyboard shortcuts to navigate and launch shortcuts, and use multiple windows on your iPad. It also replaces the hideous muted color scheme of iOS 13’s Shortcuts app with a nice bright palette.

Glitch Clip

VJay app Glitch Clip combines video clips, effects, and generative art. You can apply video effects, live, to your clips, and mix everything together using in-depth parameter controls. The pro version allows control via MIDI, so you can hook this up to a hardware controller, or to Ableton Live, and sync the visuals with the music.

Front and Center

Front and Center, from John Siracusa, is a Mac app that brings all of an app’s windows to the foreground, whenever you click on one of its windows. This was the default behavior of the Classic Mac OS, and now it’s on modern Macs. Try it, and you’ll never want to go back.
