Apple fans who also use Windows can download an updated version of iCloud from the Microsoft Store today. This brings an improved iCloud Drive experience for Windows 10 users.

It follows on the heels of iTunes for Windows appearing in the Microsoft Store this spring.

“Apple and Microsoft are making it easy for customers to access and enjoy the benefits of their iCloud account across their Windows 10 PC and Apple devices,” wrote Giorgio Sardo, engineering general manager for the Microsoft 365 Developer Ecosystem, in an official blog post.

New in iCloud for Windows

The latest version of this software uses the same Windows technology behind OneDrive’s Files On-Demand feature. This allows users to access their documents in the cloud without having to download them, saving space on their PCs. These files stored on iCloud Drive can still be accessed from File Explorer. Alternatively, the app allows users  to choose the files and folders to be stored on the PC.

This Windows application also enables access to iCloud Photos, Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Safari Bookmarks and more.

The latest Apple iCloud for Windows is available now on the Microsoft Store. It’s free of charge, and just requires an iCloud account..
