Now you can watch (and explore) 360-degree videos on the new Apple TV, thanks to virtual reality network Littlstar’s free app.

The network’s new tvOS app delivers content from the likes of Showtime, Disney and PBS. It works with Apple TV’s Siri Remote, granting users the ability to control the angle used in the immersive 360-degree videos via the remote’s nifty trackpad.

“Littlstar’s app for Apple TV brings an immersive 360 video experience to the television screen,” Littlestar founder and Chief Product Officer Tony Mugavero says. “We wanted to give audiences the ability to consume this content from their living rooms and in a social environment. With Littlstar’s app, users can now view 360 videos on their televisions, and experience immersive video the same way they would a traditional TV program.”

In addition to offering a distribution platform for VR and 360 videos from networks like Discovery and National Geographic, it also serves up content from major brands like Mountain Dew and Red Bull. Littlstar also offers tools for content creators to build their own apps.

“As more and more content creators look to 360 videos and virtual reality to tell stories and connect with consumers, we want to provide them with the widest distribution across platforms,” said Littlestar CEO Ben Nunez.

Whether Littlstar can become the YouTube of 360 content on Apple TV remains to be seen, but this app is certainly worth a look if you’re searching for a nifty new Apple TV app to show off this Christmas.
