Amazon has updated its Instant Video app for iOS today, introducing support for the iPhone and iPod touch. The service has been available on iPad since August, but this is the first time it has come to smaller iOS devices, giving Amazon Prime subscribers more than 30,000 free videos in their pockets.
The Prime Instant Video service is free to Amazon Prime members, but regular Instant Video users can take advantage of the app, too. While you still cannot buy or rent new content, you can stream anything that’s already tied to your account.
“Our customers tell us they want the convenience of being able to watch all of their movies and TV episodes, wherever they are,” says Anthony Bay, Amazon.com Vice President for Video. “Today we’re excited to extend our ‘buy once, enjoy everywhere’ approach to iPhone and iPod touch users, giving customers the chance to enjoy more than 140,000 titles from Amazon Instant Video and more than 30,000 titles from Prime Instant Video anytime, anywhere.”
You can download the latest version of Amazon Instant Video for iOS — version 1.4 — from the App Store now via the source link below.
