Apple Launches New iMac Lineup with Quad-Core Processors, Thunderbolt, FaceTime HD Camera

Apple’s online store is back up following some downtime this morning and just as we all expected, it now features a nice new family of iMacs.

These new all-in-ones boast Intel’s next-generation quad-core i5 and i7 processors, the company’s high-speed Thunderbolt technology, 3x faster graphics, and a FaceTime HD camera.

There are four new iMacs to choose from starting at $1,199 – two 21.5-inch models and two 27-inch models – all four come with 4GB of RAM and a FaceTime HD camera capable of shooting video in 720p.

21.5-inch 2.5GHz Quad-Core i5 processor, AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512MB GPU, 500GB HDD – $1,199
21.5-inch 2.7GHz Quad-Core i5 processor, AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512MB GPU, 1TB HDD – $1,499
27-inch 2.7GHz Quad-Core i5 processor, AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512MB GPU, 1TB HDD – $1,699
27-inch 3.1GHz Quad-Core i7 processor, AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1GB GPU, 1TB HDD – $1,999

Intel’s Core i7 processor is available in the high-end 21.5-inch iMac if you choose to configure your own build.

The 21.5-inch iMacs each feature a single Thunderbolt port, while the 27-inch options each boast two Thunderbolt ports.

The new family of iMacs are available to order immediately with shipping currently within 24-hours.

    Do the new imacs support target display mode like before .. will kanex xd and similar stuff work with thunderbolt port

    it’s exactly like MiniDisplay Port in that aspect, the 27″ iMac still does support target display mode
