Pepsi teamed up Wednesday with Apple Music and its 2022 Artist of the Year, Bad Bunny, to launch a summer ad campaign and giveaway.

Customers who buy Pepsi products in stores — Mountain Dew Major Melon, anyone? — may uncap a free Apple Music subscription or other prize, like Beats headphones. Or you can sign up to win without a purchase.

“Summer is the season of the year that we all get excited about, the one that brings the heat, when we seek the beach, friends, good music and just have a good time,” said Bad Bunny. “I’m happy to partner with Pepsi and Apple Music to bring fans more of what we love and unites us: MUSIC, through ‘Press Play On Summer’ offer.”

Pepsi, Bad Bunny and Apple Music team up to give away free stuff

Pepsi’s new campaign includes prizes marked on 400 million bottles in stores. It’s called “Press Play on Summer,” Ad Age reported. The campaign starts Monday, May 22, at 9 a.m. PT.

“We at Pepsi couldn’t be more excited to kick off this historic partnership with Apple Music and Bad Bunny. Both Pepsi and Apple Music have such storied histories in the music space delivering first-of-its-kind experiences for our fans over the years. So it is only fitting that we join forces to create ‘Press Play On Summer’,” said Todd Kaplan, Pepsi’s chief marketing officer.

“Bad Bunny is one of the biggest artists on the planet and we are thrilled to welcome him into the Pepsi family! We are excited to give fans unprecedented access to a host of music experiences and Bad Bunny’s catalogue all summer long,” he added.

How to enter and what you can win

Here’s how the giveaway works. After the campaign starts on Monday, you could buy a 20-ounce bottled soft drink made by Pepsi for a chance to win. That includes a wide variety of Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Starry soft drinks.

If your bottle is specially marked with a QR code for this promotion, you can claim whatever prize is behind the code. You could win any of 100,000 possible prizes, Pepsi said, worth a total of more than $2.1 million.

Note that buying a soft drink is a means by which to enter the sweepstakes, but not a requirement. You can mail in your entry or do it online. Just peruse the rules and entry requirements at the link below.

Your prize could be three months of Apple Music for free (or two months for qualified returning members; current Apple Music subscribers aren’t eligible for this prize).

Or it could be a range of other thousands of other prizes, which include free live music events, Beats headphones, microfiber towels, trucker caps and much more. See the rules.
