Tim Cook showcases new apps and iPhone film during EU trip

Apple CEO Tim Cook is taking a trip through Europe before the company’s big iPad event in New York next week.

During his pitstop in Germany and France, Cook was busy checking out some new iPhone projects and apps that could be total game changers as well as film from one of the most legendary directors in France who’s ditching his big rigs to shoot on iPhone onle.

While in Berlin, Cook checked in on the mauAR team. The company is making an augmented reality app for the Berlin Wall that brings its history to life. Cook also visited Asana Rebel, a yoga and fitness app that helps people get fit and lose weight.

“[Asana Rebel] shows that a passionate person out of any country can start a business and be successful worldwide after a short amount of time,” said Cook.

After going to Germany, Tim headed to France where he visited the makers behind Foodvisor. The app uses AI to help users keep track of what they eat by taking pictures of food.

Tim also met up with legendary director Claude Lelouch who is making a new film shot entirely on iPhone. Even though he’s been in the film industry for over 50 years,v Claude says he’s “never been happier“ than when shooting with iPhone.

Cook might make another stop or two on his way to Belgium. He’s slated to deliver the keynote speech at the International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners, on Wednesday 24 October 2018.
