Quickoffice Pro HD Update Adds Powerpoint Editing, Email Support, New Interface & More

Quickoffice is finally complete thanks to Powerpoint editing.

Quickoffice Pro HD is one of the App Store’s best third-party office suites, and until Microsoft Office hits the iPad, it’s the best way to view and edit Word and Excel documents on the go. Its latest update adds Powerpoint editing to that, in addition to native email support, an enhanced visual interface, and more.

In an update to Quickoffice Pro HD that hit the App Store today, you’ll finally find the ability to create and edit Office 2007-2010 .pptx Powerpoint documents, with “full editing capabilities across the entire Office suite and more comprehensive presentation capabilities for mobile workers.” While composing presentations, you’ll have more than 100 shapes from five different categories to choose from.

It also delivers upon a top user request which is integration with the iPad’s native Mail app, allowing you to open documents sent to your via email directly in Quickoffice. And finally, there’s now five additional localizations: Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese and Dutch.

The update is free to download if you already own Quickoffice Pro HD, or you can purchase the suite for $19.99.

Decent enough app. I use Keynote now for presentation work on the iPad. As for other biz related work, I’m waiting patiently for someone to build an app that handles MS Excel pivot tables. When that happens, I’ll be able to leave my work laptop turned off…
