hey everyone today I'm going to show you
0:07
the best way to set up your iPad's home
0:09
screen so when you get your new iPad and
0:12
you sync your apps to it you're probably
0:14
going to see you know you're going to
0:16
have this big messy arrangement of icons
0:19
all over the place not where you want
0:21
them and really disorganized and you
0:24
might have to page through a lot to find
0:26
the apps you want it's it's really
0:27
annoying so what you can do to fix this
0:32
and set up your ipad the way you want it
0:34
is uh first of all you can hold down on
0:37
the app icons and you can arrange them
0:39
around so say I want Google to go here
0:44
and you know I can um drag them to
0:46
wherever I want them to go and I can put
0:48
up to six applications in my doc down
0:51
here um there's four default ones but
0:53
you can put up to six in there so I can
0:56
uh drag rage HD down there if I play
0:58
that game a lot and and maybe Google if
1:01
I do a lot of searching and then you
1:02
know I can arrange down here too now
1:05
another handy thing is making folders so
1:10
you can see here I have some different
1:12
games on my home screen uh Infinity
1:15
Blade rage HD and epic citadel and
1:18
they're all pretty intense games so
1:20
maybe I want to group those together so
1:22
I can just drag Infinity Blade on top of
1:24
Rage
1:25
HD and it makes an folder automatically
1:28
and it titles it yeah intelligently
1:30
based on the category of the app you put
1:33
in the folder so in this case it called
1:35
it action but I can you know rename this
1:39
so I'll call it games and then hit done
1:44
and I'm done there and then I can go
1:47
back and hit the home button and I can
1:48
be finished or you know I can add other
1:52
apps um maybe I want to go over to this
1:54
page and find another intense game like
1:57
asphalt drag that back over to this home
2:00
screen and uh put that in that folder
2:03
too and then maybe I'll arrange some uh
2:06
other other games so let's put Doodle
2:10
Jump and Angry Birds together and it
2:12
labels those as games because they of
2:15
our games and I'll put paper toss in
2:16
there too now you can't make folders in
2:19
the dock you can see it won't let me
2:21
make a folder here but I can put folders
2:24
in the dock when I'm done so that no
2:27
matter what page I'm on I can
2:30
folder so what's a really handy tip is
2:33
put all your most used applications in
2:35
folders in your doc so no matter where
2:38
you are on your iPad you'll always have
2:41
those applications right at your
2:43
fingertips and another thing I should
2:45
mention is that you can only put up to
2:47
16 apps in a folder on the iPad so there
2:51
is a limit you can't go forever see I
2:53
only have four here but once you get to
2:55
16 that's the limit and it won't let you
2:57
put any more apps in there after that
3:00
now if you don't like using your iPad to
3:02
organize your apps you can also use
3:04
iTunes so all you have to do is plug
3:06
your iPad into the computer open up
3:08
iTunes and select your iPad from the
3:10
devices column here and then hit the
3:13
apps tab up at the top and you can see a
3:18
pretty much what your iPad looks like
3:20
and what you can do here is you can look
3:23
through all your apps on the side here
3:25
by scrolling through this list now on
3:27
this second half here I can look at my
3:29
home screens just by clicking at the
3:31
bottom here and I can organize my apps
3:35
just by dragging them around just like I
3:37
would do
3:38
normally and I can move them around to
3:40
wherever I want to and same with the
3:44
doc and I can even create folders um so
3:47
I can drag those two apps onto each
3:50
other and then I can name the folder it
3:52
doesn't intelligently name them when
3:55
it's in iTunes so I can make folders
3:57
that way and add apps and then move that
4:00
around too if I prefer using iTunes for
4:03
that and once again I can still put Fage
4:07
in the dock so I guess that's a little
4:09
bit e of an easier way to organize and
4:12
manage your apps rather than using your
4:13
iPad that can be a little bit
4:15
cumbersome so I hope you found this
4:17
video useful and hopefully it helped you
4:19
organize your iPad better thank you for
