oh wa oh go me oh my Louis we're live you're hacking
0:10
you're coughing but the real question
0:17
is that's what ref living does to a man let's see is this thing going I have
0:22
no idea oh I think it is going I heard something yeah hold on a sec confusing
0:30
10c
0:36
delay how about now can you hear me now yeah okay good because I had to mute
0:42
myself for a sec uh and we're live oh my goodness look at
0:48
this chat we got torquil deir I really hope that's your real name we got caveman here we got Chris
0:56
Wood we got Nathan theion we got oh just basically Nathan and Chris Wood just
1:02
going back and forth having a full-on conversation in here that's great great guys don't mind us uh you want to know how my phone is
1:10
holding up oh boy well I have an update for you there I should do a quick
1:18
update I have third degree burns on my hand but other than that I still have some glass shrapnel
1:25
left in my neck doctors say they can't retrieve it six degree burn ego six Dee
1:32
what is sixth degre does that mean your nose just falls off oh man sixth is the worst sixth is like when you overcook
1:38
your marshmallow on the fire and it just falls off it's it's totally hard on the outside but still is gooey it just Falls
1:45
slides down the thing burns your hand that's the sixth so it's hard it's
1:50
actually hard to get the sixth it's yeah it's Pro level very not well known all right my friends we have all
1:58
sorts of titillating articles to cover this week
2:04
and I got to be walking these sweet but muscular buns out the door at 125 sharp
2:10
I I I don't like how that phrase has evolved no no thank
2:15
you I'm just copying what you told me earlier that was your phrase wasn't it I swear that was you that said that no no
2:22
I I said I have to be walking these sweet buns out the door you like the sweet and muscular buns I said yeah I
2:27
thought that was weird that you brought that up mustardy I mean as far as I know you
2:33
have nothing below like your upper torso I only ever see the top half of you and you're two inches tall yeah I'm only 4
2:40
foot six he really skipped leg day that's the thing never Skip Leg Day
2:46
oh man when I go to the gym and I see guys who are just yolked at the top and they got those skinny little things in
2:52
the bottom man it looks so off not a good look man you can't Skip Leg Day
2:57
it's not even hard to do leg day you you can do some squats and then you can just
3:03
do some like calf raises and that's all you need to do calf raises yeah you got
3:08
oh dude L you gota do a cow you gota you got to do something for the Cals leis you can't have those weak off the
3:16
ground or you mean like just like lift yourself up yeah you can do it all sorts of ways I don't know what a calf raise
3:22
is so you can I don't even know if that's the correct term for it calf lift maybe but you you usually will put
3:28
something heavy you'll down put something heavy on your knees and then you'll lift your feet up you know so
3:33
that you rise on the ball of your foot and then back down so something that works your calves put something heavy on
3:39
your knees have you ever been inside a gymless yeah yeah but I
3:46
don't but you were but only for the sweat into the oldies class with
3:52
uh name Richard Simmons were you're the guy that wore like the the shorts over
3:59
your sweats Lewis was that you don't forget the headband terry cloth headband you know
4:07
as much as I don't like this I'm actually thinking about getting one of those so I'm going on this trip to
4:12
California I just hate sweating and I was thinking I should get like a headband or something to wear or like
4:21
one of those preacher towels and just keep it on my shoulder so I can just you know swab the deck whenever I need to I'm not even joking I was seriously
4:27
thinking about doing this she go full red white and blue headband yeah if I could the 70s classic
4:35
is that an icon from the 70s the red white and blue are you familiar with it well I mean I've seen red white and blue
4:41
headbands but is that like a meme from the 70s or something oh man yeah us to L do that when he was middle-aged yeah 25
4:48
years ago that was like I did have one all right we're sweating on the
4:54
soccer field you know they do look kind of dorky but they are highly practical I
5:01
have to say when I keep sweat right out of your eyes I mean that's a thing and when you're sweating for like a long
5:06
period of time eventually gets in your eyes and your eyes start burning when I went to Disney World in 2022 I I started
5:13
taking face washcloths from the hotel just with me and I would just wet them in the park and then just like keep wi
5:18
my wiping my face down because it's so dang hot and humid you're just sweating all day long and you get so gross if you
5:25
don't have a way to swab the deck you know you know what I'm saying L you want to rock and roll tip sure little
5:32
vaseline over the eyebrow that sounds gross it just
5:38
doesn't seem like it would feel very good does it keep is it just basically make the sweat feel good your face is
5:44
all greasy you got vaseline on your face and it's 90 degrees just a little I I don't mean like you know A4 cup of it or
5:51
anything just a little bit just swipe a little over your eyebrow you know what you could do leis and it didn't just
5:56
sweat didn't get in your eyes I got a great idea put some rainex on on that [Laughter]
6:03
forehead I got I got an even better idea always wear a hat oh man I keep trying hats not a good
6:11
look for me God I love hats I mean when I have a hat on I might as well wear a trench coat and try to sell someone
6:18
watches out of the sides of it you know what I mean that's just how I look I look like a convicted
6:24
Frenchman like a f felony Frenchman
6:30
so you gotta go yet or should we get this [Laughter]
6:37
show you know what I'm going to just start the music and we'll do the ending we'll just call it there this might be
6:43
the off topic this week oh man which reminds me I have to release last week's off topic um all
6:52
right should we get this thing rolling Let's uh I guess so yeah I guess
6:57
so we might as well I let's go ahead and get Mrs D here oh Mrs
7:06
D Ste oh my dear I had quite a sweat buildup with elcy last
7:12
night gross that's not what I want to hear and there were no headbands my dear
7:18
only nudity jeez Louis go somebody help us
7:30
this is D that is not what anyone wanted to hear and if you don't mind please
7:35
never say anything like that again we have a whole show to do and that's not one of the topics so I'm GNA get the
7:41
music queued up here we'll get this thing rolling what's going on this episode
7:49
in in three two hello and welcome to the hassi best
7:57
30 plus app conversation you're can here all week long I'm your host air Elijah join me today the cracking of his
8:05
knuckles is often the last thing CAC writers report hearing before waking up
8:10
in the hospital Days Later he's the tough but fair managing editor CAC leis walls is here always
8:18
Fair always fair not usually it's not over sell at leou also his favorite cars and
8:27
computers were all made at least a decade before he was born so you know in the mid 90s riter for CAC Griffin Jones
8:35
is here good evening airon ask how's
8:41
your you want to leave the show with that okay my pleasure somebody asked that in
8:47
the chat was that you Chris I'll give you a phone update for those of you that may have not listened to the show in a
8:53
little while first of all T TI and uh you may not have heard that a splash or
8:59
maybe three splashes somehow water damaged my uh quote unquote ip68 rated
9:06
iPhone 15 Pro Max and apple refused to replace it and tried to accuse me of
9:12
trying to defraud them in some way but no it was just splash that's all that happened and so since Apple refused to
9:19
help me I decided to take matters into my own hands bought a toolkit separated
9:25
the phone which take took a feat of great Herculean strength and
9:30
and uh sheer force of will got the thing open sprayed it all out and I will have
9:35
you know working absolutely perfectly absolutely perfect not a blip not a
9:43
single issue since I let the phone air out now the phone
9:49
isn't fully attached to the or the screen isn't fully attached to the phone anymore so there is that I got to I don't use my phone with
9:56
damp hands anymore uh or get it anywhere near water or Vapor um did you skip a
10:01
step when you're putting it back together or something well not really the problem is that I when you take it
10:08
apart if you don't do it exactly perfectly there is a plastic backing
10:14
that goes around the edge of the screen and if you damage that you you can't put it back together the same way it was
10:20
originally assembled so I still could glue it back together and I probably will I probably should I just got lazy
10:27
and I wanted to make sure that it worked and it is working full flawlessly now so there is a glue um strip that you can
10:33
buy on Amazon and probably eBay that allows you to readhere the screen to the phone but the problem is is that because
10:40
the backing was damaged it's not going to be a perfect uh I don't know glue job
10:46
because the backing is what adheres to the actual phone itself and so some of my backing is missing it'll still work
10:53
but you know what that's the thing like I'm not going to take it near water anymore and I heard that once you repair
10:58
the the screen on an iPhone it's no longer ip68 rated so even if I took it to like
11:05
a professional place and they did it it's basically never going to be waterproof again once you replace the screen unless Apple does it which I hate
11:12
to say this is a reason Apple probably makes you trade it in so they can professionally repair it and restore the
11:19
ip68 rating because I'm sure there's all these tests that they have to do to make sure that it all works so but you know
11:25
what I don't care about any of that it works I'm going to make it until the new
11:31
phone's released I'll get my hands on the beautiful Buster Buster honey bronze iPhone 16 Pro and then I don't know what
11:37
I'll do with this phone keep it as a backup maybe sell it for parts I may just sell it on Craigslist and just say
11:44
screen has been uh removed waterproofing is or the waterproofing is no longer
11:50
there and see if I can sell this thing for 500 bucks these phones sell for like $800 to ,000 still so if it's not
11:57
perfectly waterproof but it still works fine I think there are going to be people who don't care if it's waterproof
12:03
a lot of people are so paranoid they don't take their phones anywhere near water anyway which might be me after
12:09
this point because the whole ip68 rating doesn't seem to do very much so there
12:15
you go there's your answer that one's for you Chris I think that was you Chris
12:21
that asked the question in the chat and uh working better than I even could have hoped but that's not what we're here to
12:28
talk about you guys don't want to hear about my 15 Pro Max you want to hear about iPhone 16 and that's good because
12:34
we have got I think pretty much if not all most of the details on what's coming
12:40
to the cameras on the iPhone 16 and the pros and also I can't I can hardly
12:46
believe it the color that we have all always wanted I'm speaking on all of your behalf the color that we've all
12:53
always wanted it seems like it might finally be coming true and we've got a
12:58
beautiful mock up here by our our very own D Griffin Jones we'll show you what it looks like if uh you're watching the
13:05
show anyway if not then well I guess we'll just describe it to you and I'll just go you check the chapter artwork in
13:11
your podcast player put there as well okay at at that uh and we're also going to be talking
13:17
about well let me scroll up here oh that's
13:23
right that's right Griffin's got an allnew under review to do you're going to tell us about how four specific
13:30
characters crash your phone is it four characters any fun little how too you can do on your own as you listen along
13:36
to the show and we get there do you remember how there was like this like Emoji or character that you could send people that would actually crash their
13:42
phones I found that to be a lot more fun I don't know if that still works I doubt it yeah I forgot all about that
13:49
one yeah that one was a lot more fun to send your friends but before we Dive
13:54
Right In I do want to thank oh did not print this up hold on a second I'm not going to thank them yet because I want
14:01
to make sure that I bring up the link so we can look at at the same time I want to thank one password for supporting
14:07
this episode boom browser mode there we go is
14:13
it working though that's the question oh thank goodness imagine your company's security like the quad of a
14:20
college campus leou I want you you don't seem like you're imagining this Lo your eyes are still
14:25
open okay all right let me go into a trance
14:31
there are nice brick paths between the buildings those are the company-owned devices Lewis it approved apps and
14:37
manage employees and managed employee identities and then there are the paths people actually use Lewis the shortcuts
14:44
worn through the grass that are the actual straightest line from point A to point B those are the unmanaged devices
14:51
oh my goodness I can see your facial expressions going wild you're imagining this vividly Shadow it apps and
14:57
non-employee identities like contractors most security tools only work on those
15:03
happy brick paths but a lot of security problems take place on the
15:09
shortcuts most security tools oh my apologies one password extended access
15:14
management is the First Security solution that brings all these unmanaged devices apps and identities under your
15:20
control it ensures that every user credential is strong and protected every device is known and healthy and every
15:26
app is visible one password extend access management solves the problems traditional IAM and MDM cans it's
15:34
security for the way we work today leou and it's now generally available to companies with OCTA and Microsoft entra
15:41
and in beta for Google workspace customers check it out at onep password.com
15:48
productx am that's onep password.com that's with the the uh the number one
15:55
onep password.com product slxa M and thanks to one
16:00
password for supporting this episode okay shall we Dive Right In we had a big announcement this week didn't we lose oh
16:07
biggest leak ever the Apple event announced invite leaked early we got the invite oh man let me bring that up here
16:14
it is wasn't that amazing look at that in beautiful Buster hiney bronze that actually looks like an ad from like like
16:21
uh what was that company that used to make um cassette tapes and he had the
16:27
guy blowing away in the chair you know what I'm talking about TDX
16:32
Max I don't remember the name of the company so I for some reason this reminds Memorex all right anyway that's
16:40
is it live or is it memx man Le remembers
16:45
the I can't remember I couldn't even remember the name you remember the slogan I'm
16:50
impressed well leis is this yours set tapes what a what a great period of of time that was uh okay yeah so uh this
16:59
big uh Apple event leaks out everybody goes crazy including culted Mac writing
17:05
reporting about it uh it turns out it was a hoax date the event title even the fake
17:12
invites color palette as you mentioned the bronze uh seemed to confirm previous leaks about Apple's upcoming lineup
17:19
however turns out it was a quick hoax hacked together by a an Italian video
17:25
editor 14-year-old kid in like 14 10 minutes or something uh let's see uh
17:34
what else do we need to know about this so this was leaked by uh Majin Buu who
17:39
we've uh you know reported on leaks from this guy uh in the past
17:47
um and as he said and you know in our defense we reported this with a fair bit of skepticism like it's it's pretty
17:55
unbelievable that this would leak out of apple uh even Majin Buu said even if this tidbit didn't truly leak from Apple
18:02
it's still a pretty good guess okay true enough well then you know like the day after that you know blows up on the
18:08
Internet uh this this guy posts on X yeah kid kid yes teenager fun fact I
18:16
made the leak to Apple invite unless excuse me I made the scare quote leaked
18:24
Apple invite Apple event invite cannot say it Apple event invite unless than 10 minutes using figma and an AI generated
18:31
texture and I sent it to the leaker just because I was bored he also posted like a a screenshot
18:37
of him you know showing his creative process uh his creative
18:43
process so you know I mean okay he takes basically the Apple uh event template
18:48
recreates it sprinkles on you know like actually I what was this cat catchphrase
18:53
it was like uh Ready Set capture I think it it was so believable not just because he incl Incorporated all the rumors but
19:00
he also mimicked Apple's style for like their punny sort of event names
19:05
perfectly and you know the slightly modified version of the Apple logo like a lot of people do like concepts for you
19:11
know hypothetical Apple rumors and stuff like that and usually they're kind of terrible and don't actually resemble
19:17
apple style at all but this guy nailed it perfectly yeah in retrospect some
19:22
people are like oh well it's obviously a fake it's like yeah I mean you looked at that thing on that Monday when that
19:28
thing leaked onto the internet and it's like dang man that looks like it and yeah I I I think actually the headline
19:34
that he wrote was like or the event title or whatever was like the that was the key right I mean that just seemed so
19:44
Apple I just I'm surprised this doesn't actually happen more often
19:49
because people are so interested in apple stories that if you just make
19:55
something up and post it I feel like people will just believe it and run with it I'm kind of
20:02
surprised this doesn't happen more often to be honest with you especially if you use like some kind
20:08
of uh AI to generate the image for you and it matches the style and you come up
20:14
with a fun little slogan that seems like it might be Apple so it's like that's kind of all you need and in the future
20:20
you'll be able to mimic products and create all sorts of imagery of fake products that look like they could be
20:26
real it's going to be impossible to know what real holding iPhones that fold the wrong way
20:32
uh so the good news is uh you know this this 14-year-old teenager his name's
20:38
Lorenzo uh he plans to do it again I had a little chat with him uh after this
20:44
after he got on uh you scold him x no I for tricking us you well done in a way
20:51
uh I I asked him about it and uh he says he was surprised he he says quote I
20:57
thought my invite looked fake enough [Laughter] enough let's see that just kind of
21:04
affirms my point it's like even if it doesn't actually look that real I mean it looks this looks like a logo from the
21:11
90s it looks very low res I can't imagine Apple's invite would actually look like this
21:17
but maybe it would because it's a kind of it's he talked about L you know I he
21:22
said something like oh I use a kind of a stupid story to kind of trick the leaker uh and uh
21:29
he actually he this is hilarious he he said that he chose Majin Buu because
21:35
uh mainly because he figured he would he would fall for it he says I chose him mainly because despite his dubious track
21:41
record people still trust him and because of this track record I was sure that my quote leak would end up on his
21:48
page dude that is so funny he yeah the kid was sick and bored at home so he's
21:56
like yeah you know I'm just going to try this and he and he had thought about doing it in the past he never got around to it or whatever and uh you know he he
22:03
says he probably do it again uh he said he actually he actually
22:09
expressed uh you know he's like kind of sorry that that it blew up on Majin Buu
22:15
he says uh he if he does again either you know might make it more of a collaboration he says I will actually
22:21
make sure to tell the leak or what I want to do he said maybe I won't even contact another person and I'll do
22:28
everything by myself so I don't know it's this whole thing kind of shows just
22:34
how you know rabid the uh Apple leosphere is it it shows how easy it is
22:41
to basically trick tons of people and how unbelievably fast that information
22:47
could travel around the world this was picked you know I mean like I said cult to ma picked it up so did tons of you know really big Publications I think
22:53
CNBC published something on it uh well plus we're expecting an EV during this
22:59
time frame so he got the timing right he got the social engineering right you
23:04
know he got the aesthetic close enough he nailed it yeah so it was completely
23:10
believable yeah I mean some people like for instance a a certain Apple reporter
23:15
who loves to go on X and just who's that take a shot at people uh said oh
23:21
obviously never happened this could never happen it was obviously not real and blah blah blah blah blah yeah
23:27
whatever okay Mr Big Boy uh the the reality and this Leander talked about
23:32
this in our newsletter uh that we talked about this this particular hoax uh Leander says the the funny thing is that
23:39
he probably got the date right I mean it's probably exactly what's going to happen September 10 that's the date we actually expect the Apple event to
23:46
happen uh you know according to history and just the the timing and everything
23:52
else so that that's what made that hoax so good the least believable part of it is
23:57
like how early he chose to make this like if he had done this a week and a half from now I think he would have
24:03
fewer Skeptics because Apple sends out these invitations like usually a week
24:09
before the event and you know so I guess it'd be more realistic if he had uh if he had leaked it like the Friday before
24:15
the week before the event on I know September 1st something like that I thought about that you know like I I
24:21
figured like Apple's working on their invite right now you know they're probably workshopping it figuring out
24:27
what what the actual headline will be and uh you know that actually if you think about it I mean you could imagine
24:34
if if they were sending these around mockups internally saying hey who likes a who likes B who likes C you know email
24:41
that stuff can leak uh that actually made it seem more possible to me that it
24:47
it could have been like a first round pick or one of one of several options right but all right well all that to say
24:53
it was fake we don't know when the invite is going out and we don't know when the event is so if you heard
24:59
anything for sure we won't get one oh what you what do you mean that's how we'll know for sure that it's real is it
25:05
comes from Tim apple.com and it's like I demand that CAC seat in the front row and here are
25:13
your exclusive tickets we' reserved the whole front row for you by the way so bring your friends bring your family uh
25:19
something that is not fake news let's talk about this beautiful Buster honey
25:24
bronze titanium my friends the day may have come the day may have come now what
25:29
are they calling this um desert titanium was that the name that's what Majin Buu called it oh
25:37
we're back to Majin Buu okay discredited wait a second wait a second is the
25:42
source for this story Majin [Laughter] Buu I certainly hope not but because
25:49
because from this photo it looks more gold but I don't think this is the way it's going to look but we may have
25:56
finally gotten the the uh the bronze iPhone that we have all wanted including
26:01
all of you listening here today uh an unconfirmed report say iPhone 16 Pro Models will come in natural titanium
26:07
black titanium white titanium and they will supposedly supposedly supposedly be
26:13
a new Option bronze titanium okay that's right boy I I had to wake up super duper
26:18
early this morning and it's weird when I don't get enough sleep I just can't remember anything it's very weird yeah
26:23
because now that I'm reading this again I'm like oh yeah this came from Sunny Dixon who has actually who who really accurate and he often leaks the um
26:30
correct colors of the phones from the models that they get or he gets from China so this was posted on X by Sunny
26:38
Dixon Sunny Dixon and sure enough there was an option that he should off called
26:45
um I guess m quo coined to the term Rose titanium I don't think this looks very
26:50
Rosy to me it looks more bronze which is what I hope fantastic uh you know I refuse to allow
26:59
any any any any uh making fun of bronze on this program lo I tried to paint my
27:05
house bronze cuz we have a mid-century house and I was telling my wife I'm like it's like the perfect color for a
27:11
mid-century house and she's like it looks like diarrhea I was like ah I don't want to hear that that's what
27:18
that's what people say about bronze I think bronze has a bad rap yes you could confuse it for diarrhea but you could
27:25
also confuse it for a classy mid Century House in Elvis Presley bronze yes my f
27:33
the first car that not the first one I owned but the first one I drove before I you know bought it myself the first car
27:38
I was given to drive was a brown Honda Accord Coupe 199 made do in brown I I
27:45
think it was like an aftermarket paint job like like that but it was it was two-tone Brown on top Tan on bottom and
27:52
the interior had a brown plastic dashboard with brown seats and tan that
27:57
was not OEM it was it was I think the interior might have been OEM but it it was beautiful you know I I I hope they
28:05
call it they they don't need to dress it up with a fancy name just call it brown
28:11
unapologetically brown that's not GNA work that's not gonna work Brown zoon
28:16
tried it where's Zoom today it's gone you got to do bronze very carefully because it can look beautiful and classy
28:23
but if you do it wrong it doesn't look that way it looks like your basic uh
28:30
I've got to run to the bathroom Brown so I guess we'll wait and see because from this is It's Apple so it won't it won't
28:37
even look Brown it'll just look you know brownish brownish maybe that would
28:44
be the name so cuz the mockup you did here Griffin this is I think far too gold that actually looks gold to me like
28:51
it needs to be darker and Browner and and more run to to Really capture the
28:57
color but like a really beautiful bronze oh my goodness that's the one I've been waiting for and I know many of you here
29:04
agree with me so you actually uh off on the show I floated an idea that I've had
29:11
for a while I was thinking if they were still going to be like the same sort of boring selection of colors this year as
29:16
they were in previous years I would do something unprecedented in that I would
29:21
try to recreate the color scheme of the iPhone 4 so I would order a white iPhone
29:29
16 Pro and then I would do an exchange with one of our listeners or something
29:35
like that where I surgically remove the back plate off of a black one onto mine
29:40
and give them a white plate I actually solicited someone who would do this for me we worked on Arrangement if that's
29:47
you know what we decided we wanted to do um but I have to say I might I might
29:53
just order the brown if if it is as good as it it may might we hope it will be I
29:59
would certainly go for that over taking your phone apart trust me it's not as easy as the videos make it look and once
30:07
you do that your phone will probably not be waterproof anymore and you seem to to be someone that keeps your phone for a
30:12
long time aren't you still using an iPhone 12 do I remember that correctly 12 Pro 12 Pro so would you want it to be
30:19
not waterproof for three or four or five years like I just think that's dangerous I've also done a number of iPhone
30:25
operations before I think like I've I've replaced at least taken apart and mostly
30:31
rebuilt like an iPhone 10 which is one of the more complicated ones to do and i' would also be doing the back plate
30:36
instead of the front plate which would make it easier and also I think it probably is easier but the only a person
30:42
with a silver and black iPhone and that would be pretty cool sure until it gets bricked and you have to buy a new phone
30:48
I guess I'd be one of two people true very true well that's not all the all the iPhone 16 news that we
30:56
have let's dive into this next St so you want to know about the cameras e
31:01
okay all right big shot let me pull up this story here here's what we got so
31:07
hats off to Apple Insider I think that the story came from them and we are just
31:13
thankful it's not from Gman because do we really need another story from German this week no we don't so we got this one
31:20
yeah we could have had a completely German free podcast you just had to do it I prefer the opposite leis I prefer
31:27
to have have nothing but German in fact I was thinking of recreating like a cardboard cutout and
31:34
just putting his face next to me looking down on me in disapproval as we talk
31:39
about his stories I if Gman were ever to get into podcasting it would it would be all all over for all of us you know I'm
31:46
not so sure that's true I'm not so sure that's true I saw I saw I mean first of all German's on Bloomberg all the time
31:53
so he is on he he is on video a lot I saw German smile once and I wasn't sure
31:58
how it made me feel one time yeah it was that one time and I haven't seen it since some people are into that yeah
32:05
some people just don't have well-developed senses of
32:10
humor your words not mine yes it looks like uh well never
32:19
mind we do love Mark here we love Mark in fact I invited Mark on a long time
32:25
ago he turned me down but he was invited polit uh no no it wasn't polite actually
32:30
no he he was he actually was quite polite that's good but I think he knew that if he was rude I'd have to beat him
32:36
up and you know he was worried about that I'm pretty sure I'm faster than him
32:42
too so if he ran I could probably still catch him anyway let's talk about iPhone 16
32:48
cameras that's what you hear to hear about all right here we go here's everything that we know so far I think
32:55
some of this stuff came from Apple Insider who had had some exclusives today every model on the iPhone in the
33:02
iPhone 16 series will get a button dedicated taking pictures oh man
33:08
according to information leaked from Apple Insider uh details of the capture button were previously leaked though um but it
33:15
was it was thought it was going to be exclusive to just the pro phones it turns out all phones are getting it unconfirmed reports indicate that
33:20
pressing the button will open the camera app touching it will lightly trigger autofocus sliding a finger on the button
33:26
will zoom in and out and pressing harder will take a picture there you go uh the same Source details and uh some other
33:34
improvements to the cameras um let's see here we already talked about the fact that the iPhone 16 Pro the regular model
33:40
not the max will include that super zoom Tetra prism that allows you to go up to 5x which is cool I use it occasionally
33:49
uh the primary camera will reportedly stay the same at 48 megapixels um and with the same aperture but both pro
33:55
versions will allegedly include an improved 48 megapixel ultrawide camera
34:02
uh I'm not gonna talk about micrometers because that's GNA just bore people um in addition the report says
34:08
we've been told that the two Pro Models will support now here's an interesting one the two Pro Models will support 3K
34:15
video at 120 frames per second 3K who the heck takes 3K video what is
34:23
the current slow mode I I I don't even remember let's look this up I mean 120 frames per second is slow
34:30
mode so um slow-mo mode so maybe that's why they're going to drop it down to 3K
34:37
because they can't do 120 at 4K but I thought you could do 120 at
34:42
4K you can do 180 oh okay so that's why you the
34:48
current slow-mo modes you can do you can do 120 at 1080 I forgot that I thought it was 4K uh I'm surprised it can't do
34:56
4K uh at 120 in our current iteration and you could do 1080 240 frames per
35:04
second so this will be a slight increase in resolution and 120 frames per second
35:09
so they can't quite make 4K work it sounds like so they're going to just give you 3K all right I'll take it I
35:15
mean well the the thing the thing about uh shooting slowmo video usually it's something like you really want to make
35:20
sure you're you're you're capturing well sometimes you like if you're trying to capture in slow motion for some for
35:26
example like an object falling from a you know tall
35:31
distance and hitting the ground and exploding you know that that's always a fun thing to capture in slow motion and
35:37
sometimes you don't want to like zoom in really close because you want to make sure that you actually have a good shot of the thing falling because that's the
35:43
whole point if you have a 3K video then that means that you can maybe set the camera a little farther back than you
35:50
might naturally want to and then you'll still be able to get a perfect 1080p crop of it okay there you go and it
35:56
looks like you also be able to get um the 120 frames per second in Dolby
36:01
Vision so that's good so slight Improvement there as for the more basic iPhone 16 and 16 plus their primary
36:08
camera won't change but the the 12 megapixel ultrawide camera will be upgraded to f2.2 which I think
36:16
is2 bigger than the current aperture so they say for better low light performance but dude it's like such a
36:23
slight Improvement I'm not even sure I would count that um but we'll allow it
36:29
non-pro iPhone models are also believed to support macro photography for the
36:34
first time in addition Apple will supposedly add an a a new um I don't
36:40
know what this a container codec jpeg XL image format to the phone jpeg XL do you
36:48
know anything about that Griffin I know nothing I've literally never heard of it okay I've never heard of that either it's
36:54
new well typically when Apple adopts something it's new to them but it's not
37:00
actually new you know what I mean so the fact that I've never heard of that is kind of interesting there's got to be
37:06
more to it than this there's nothing in here wonder if that's supposed to replace because they just moved the camera to capturing what is it hike or H
37:14
image format yeah H high efficiency image format is is jpeg XL supposed to replace that I doubt it I can't imagine
37:22
that they would be replacing it but I don't know I ALS I actually I also don't like that that so many image apps
37:32
and like nases and stuff like don't even support like the high efficiency image
37:38
format or the one that has to do with video I guess high efficiency video format um I forgot exactly what it's
37:45
called video Codec video Codec yeah thanks and uh like if you're on PC especially like the video Codec is going
37:51
to destroy your machine it's kind of surprising how fast or how slow adoption is is uh is happening
37:58
but I can't imagine this is everything there's got to be more to it than this especially for the pro I mean I'm really
38:03
disappointed that there's no news on the or at least no rumors of the sensor of the telephoto camera getting any
38:09
improvements I think although they've made changes to the lens that it's still the same sensor that they've had since
38:17
either the iPhone 13 or iPhone 14 pro they made no changes to it for a few years now I was hoping that wow still
38:23
like a 12 megapixel sensor in there you know maybe a boost to 24 would be welcome change in my book but well I
38:30
guess we'll have to wait and see what the other changes are because right now I'm feeling very uninspired but you know
38:36
what yeah jpeg XL is an existing format never heard of it me either you would
38:42
believe this but searches for it Spike this morning oh uh you know one of the
38:47
things that I don't think we included in our write up about this but it said that this uh capture button uh is going to be
38:54
opened up to thirdparty apps you know designed to be used with camera specific
39:00
apps but you'll be able to select which one you want to use like if you use some
39:05
Advanced third-party photography app uh and say the same thing the four stive
39:12
half press you know which I it's been talked about it being used for like to check the focus or something also be
39:19
tied to the developer API so it it could lock the exposure Focus could you know
39:25
do different things right uh the other thing that they point out is that because it's capacitive it won't just go
39:30
off what's in your pocket isn't that great hopefully it'll be a splash proof too pocket photos yeah I don't think
39:38
I've ever actually accidentally taken a pocket photo well you've never had a capture button on your phone have you
39:44
that's true that is true I have taken lots of accidental shower
39:49
photos I don't know if that ever happens to you yeah sure sure buddy
39:54
accidental oh whoops so cuz I use well I was using my
40:01
phone this is this is why it failed by the way so n dude Burn Out The Seal Tim
40:07
Cook has even said Apple says you don't want to get shampoo and soap on a phone
40:12
or I don't get shampoo on it ever no I just sprit some water in my
40:18
body Leander Leander says that as he's washing his hands he scrubs his phone down too what does that not seem like
40:25
something Leander does he's all about efficiency yeah I guess
40:32
so I heard he washes his body with the phone he just puts the soap on the phone he uses it like a lofa he just so I was
40:41
using my phone in the shower for two reasons I mean a it's supposed to be uh
40:47
you know ip68 rated right and I'm not taking showers in a steam room like my shower doesn't get that hot and so I'll
40:54
I was using it to watch like YouTube videos as I shower just like catch up on whatever and then when it's time to
41:00
shave dude the perfect shave mirror it's what I use for my shave mirror everywhere I go because you know I shave
41:07
in the shower TMI maybe maybe not maybe not see there you
41:13
go because it's like the best place to do it but you you can't see what you're doing right and I used to have a mirror in there but it was like such a pain to
41:19
like uh defog the mirror all the time so anyway I got rid of the mirror started using my iPhone I was like dude this is
41:24
perfect got like the like the front- facing camera you know it's good enough it's close enough yeah I can see you're
41:30
perplexed do you have you have like a shower mag safe how do you what you just sit it there so I TI ledge or something
41:38
this is you well you could get like a phone holder if you needed to but I have
41:43
like a shower caddy there's like a a chrome rack at the front of my shower that holds like you know your different
41:50
shower AA and you know so I have it just sitting in there and it just hangs out
41:57
so it barely gets splashed at all it's almost never wet from the shower cuz it's like so raised raised so highly so
42:04
I use that for I I'll handle it with wet hands but dude that shouldn't be anything that wet soapy hands no I never
42:12
touch it with soapy hands ever I don't think I've ever touched my hand my phone with soapy hands but the reason I I take
42:18
the accidental uh shower photos is because when you are cuz I will be
42:23
listening to a video in picture and picture so the video right there and then I'll have the camera turned on in
42:30
front-facing mode and I will go to turn up the volume but when you're on the
42:36
camera the volume is taking pictures so P it a bunch of times and then I'll like
42:42
look through my camera roll and there's like four pictures of me just shirtless in the shower and you know what I look
42:49
good Lis real good you know shirtless is if you're going to go take a shower shirtless is the way to
42:54
go well I still wear the pants I mean never Ned leis I the jean shorts you know so those
43:02
are always on no matter who's in the room understandable that part of the body just doesn't get washed but uh
43:09
wouldn't the moist ruin the phone display inside no not at all it's completely sealed and and the irony and
43:17
the irony is is I've I've been doing this for years and years and years I've literally never had a single problem
43:22
with it and then I take it on the river it gets splashed like lightly three
43:28
times and by the way my phone is in a case so even if it gets splashed like you know there's a case around the outside so the water doesn't actually
43:35
hit it directly that was enough that was enough to get it to be water damaged
43:42
but caveman says at cultcast you'll never know what you'll learn that much is true that much is
43:48
true uh before we move on because I think that was all the camera news I know one thing is for sure if you're
43:55
getting the new phone and you don't have cult cast yet or CT cast you don't have CT cloth yet you've got the CT cast it's
44:01
here it's free unfortunately cult cloth not free but it's close to free and it's
44:07
a great way in fact the best way to keep all of your gadgets phones uh glasses sunglasses lenses
44:15
camera sparkling clean I took my camera to the beach it got all dusty and
44:22
Sandy wipe that thing off boom good as new good is new and you could reach down
44:28
to the cracks and crevices around the dials of your camera if you have like one of those fancy Fujifilm cameras like I do and get all the dust and dirt out
44:35
of there nothing works better than cat cloth nothing that is just a that's that's the cold hard truth leis and I
44:42
won't hear anything about it because it's just true people say like oh what about this cloth I'm like that cloth is
44:48
garbage you got it for free with your sunglass uh it doesn't even have any of
44:54
like the short long fiber design of the co cloth Duo which makes its cleaning power
44:59
unparalleled and yes you can fashion it into a bathing suit if you'd like some
45:05
of you have done that I wish you wouldn't send me pictures but they have all sorts of utility that I have never
45:10
even tried to discover that many of you do and for some reason you find it entertaining to send me those pictures
45:15
and I wish you would stop especially because the restraining order is very specific you're not supposed to contact
45:20
me with those pictures anymore my lawyers told me not to talk more about it than that so I'll just say
45:26
if if you haven't gotten yourself yourself a set of cult cloth cult cloth. cult cloth. and uh pick some up when you
45:33
get your new phone in two to three weeks try them out now they'll keep your MacBook sparkling clean people use them
45:39
on their cars on their dashboards I mean all sorts of stuff and they just are surprisingly good surprisingly good plus
45:47
you're supporting the show and myself when you buy some which I appreciate c.co use code cultcast checkout to score
45:54
a free carry cloth with any order of $20 plus which is like basically everything uh
45:59
coco. all right what's next Griffin are you going to tell us about the four
46:04
character fun little how to for our audience okay take it away how to crash your
46:10
iPhone so uh if you want to make your iPhone crash I'm G try this right now we G to
46:16
try it right now you just have to type four simple characters into the app Library search field and the springboard
46:23
app will go down like a house of cards so on Mastadon a white hat hacker who goes by Constantine called attention to
46:30
this very sort of bizarre bug uh the a springboard reset if you aren't aware uh
46:37
it just basically forces the software that runs the home screen like the all the app icons and all that to just close
46:44
and reopen so you're at no risk of like data loss if you do this by the way it just like turns the screen black and you
46:49
see a spinner for a few seconds and then you just go back to your home screen it's kind of hilarious so you go to the
46:54
app Library you tap on the search box and you type in two double quotes
47:00
followed by two col I'm about to do this live on the Shell let's see if I can get to work colon springboard resets
47:07
immediately with a black screen and a sprinting wheel uh the good news however is that a fix is already on the way I tested this
47:15
in iOS 18 developer beta 7 and it didn't do anything at all whereas you know Ed
47:21
and Lois are trying it out and they're like yeah yeah it's crazy just immediately crashes weird something like that it hard to capture but I did just
47:27
try it oh yep it it doesn't it crashes your phone but it doesn't like restart
47:34
your phone it just takes you to the lock screen and then it takes a moment for it so it's what what service did you say it
47:41
crashes it crashes the app that runs the home screen and the lock screen and all that called springboard okay so crashes
47:47
springboard which takes you to the lock screen but it's like restarting finder it takes like a few seconds and then you
47:53
come back and everything's just normal yeah there are a few Oddities though although it I couldn't get the uh
47:59
springboard to crash I found that if I type the same characters into Spotlight just from the page of icons on the home
48:06
screen it does make the keyboard disappear for a split second and interestingly because I was reading
48:13
these messages on slack on my Vision Pro so I was like oh I'll try it here as well if you type them into the spotlight
48:19
on the Vision Pro it makes the spotlight window just like instantly disappear and then all of the keyboard input is just broken for a few seconds oh so
48:27
the bug isn't entirely gone I don't know what's causing it but it it has become more harmless in iOS 18 Zack du from the
48:34
chat says not crashing on a German phone well that's because the Germans are not so easily fooled neither of their
48:41
phones cool fun little trick for you to try if you are bored for and you have 10
48:48
spe 10 seconds to burn on a bus or as you're commuting there you go okay what
48:54
else what else we got I think we have one story left don't we yeah under review woohoo look at this and you got a
49:02
half hour to do it well 25 minutes I don't think I don't think it's going to take you that long by the way before we
49:09
do under review we've been trying to get more products on the show I really want to do this segment more often I think we
49:15
all do we used to do it quite often um and so if there's any products that
49:20
you're like we would love to hear you guys talk about this product just reach out to me on the allnew X I promise if
49:26
you come to me with a product recommendation I won't put up my dukes and try to box your ears like I did with many of the other people that try to
49:32
talk to me there and I would love to hear what you guys are into or if there's a product or whatever that you
49:37
want us to talk about let us know and we'll try to get it I don't know if they'll send us something but um uh I
49:44
would I will try to get on the show and we can talk about that stuff because uh even better yet if you if you represent a product or a brand or something like
49:51
that if you work in marketing and you have a connection you know us a line yeah there you go yeah that great um
49:58
just uh ping us on X or you can email me aon.com or if you want you could go have
50:05
a one-on-one uh private encounter with d Griffin Jones on Mastadon just you and
50:11
him he's there or you could Fork over the five bucks just Fork it over and
50:17
then you could ping me or Griffin directly right in the very exclusive Halls of the cult Club where you're sure
50:23
to get a reply Maybe not maybe not a timely reply I need to get better about that but definitely a reply probably all
50:30
right Griffin take it away what do you got for us okay I have an accessory for
50:35
all both of you in the audience with an apple Vision Pro okay I'm gonna bring it out here have it
50:42
sitting on my desk this is a top strap accessory but
50:48
made by a company called Anna Pro there there are a number of people who have like tried to make top strap accessories
50:53
like you know it's an additional strap that you can attach it's sort of um slides onto the arms of the Vision Pro
51:00
kind of like right behind the the speakers and stuff like that and and it's designed to like rest on like the upper part of your forehead even if you
51:07
have like a you know I I wouldn't say that I have like a five head you know I have a pretty
51:13
average a five head it's it's okay that that that's what a five head it goes
51:20
beyond four to five leis yeah never heard that before I've never heard that
51:25
before but immed made sense to me yeah yeah well if you have if you are
51:31
a normally foreheaded person it sits like right right in front of your hairline which is good because like I don't want a strap to sit like on top of
51:38
my hair because I mean first of all it ruins my hair and that's just a n it also seems unsafe because eventually
51:44
your here will spring back up boom there goes your Vision Pro but also gives me like a headache like The Vision Pro
51:49
comes with a dual strap that's just like two basic velcro straps one one that's
51:54
supposed to go above your head and like it it goes too far back I that that that strap is not as comfortable to me but um
52:01
this is one you can attach it's nice it's like a nice it's like a fully manufactured thing like there are a lot
52:06
of accessories that are just 3D printed uh this isn't that this is like a fully manufactured thing it has like a nice little leather or like fake leather bit
52:14
of like foam there that attaches into it so that alone would make this a good product and it's also much cheaper than
52:21
others models in the Market at just U I think like $40 it's 40 bucks it's 35
52:27
something like that uh so this is by far the cheapest way to get a top stop on the Vision Pro but it has a super power
52:34
oh do you notice anything unusual about my Vision Pro airon oh boy let's take a look I mean
52:43
that strap is a little bit weird if I'm being honest it like bends forward it's got like a weird Arc to it
52:49
it kind of looks like do you notice anything missing uh oh the um well hold let me
52:56
make this light seal yeah the light Seal's gone okay when you wear this top strap you can
53:02
wear the Vision Pro without a light seal oh because it it sort of pinches it
53:08
pinches the weight of the Vision Pro like between your forehead and the back of your head if you it with a solo knit
53:13
band and that means that without the light seal you have your entire peripheral vision back H which makes it
53:22
which makes the Vision Pro much more uh Pleasant to use if you use it in the mixture reality mode which is personally
53:28
what I use like easily 95 probably 99% of the time I very rely use the
53:34
environments or virtual reality or stuff like that um most of the time when I'm in the Vision Pro I'm I I'm in mixed
53:40
reality mode and this makes it much better because you're you're no longer blind like I don't even have very good
53:47
peripheral vision my eyesight is pretty terrible but even blurry like I can I'm aware of so much more of my environment
53:53
around me like if I'm looking dead forward words I can still see out of the corner of my eye like my dog is sitting
53:59
to my left my my drink is sitting to my right if I'm if I'm eating while I'm
54:05
wearing the Vision Pro and like watching a or TV or something like that like I can I can actually look down and you
54:11
know see my spoon in front of my face imagine that bra doesn't that degrade the experience a lot not having
54:18
the light seal because you have the light pouring in from all the sides I mean doesn't that make it harder to see what's going on on the
54:25
screens no because I have a very poorly lit house okay so if you live in a cave or
54:34
in Afghanistan and like one of those like Mountain caves you're going to be you're going to be set you don't need to worry about the okay yeah like I like
54:41
each room in my house has like maybe one or two overhead lights and I have a lot of lamps but even considering that like
54:47
I have a lot I have a lot of lamps in my house which is you know should Prov you would think that would lead to a lot of
54:53
glare at like high level down so it it's
54:58
actually pretty it it feels I I don't feel like it's dimmer
55:03
when I'm looking at my Vision Pro through the pass through video versus my peripheral vision it I feel like it gets
55:09
just as bright yeah interesting problem there you know I have to I have to say I
55:15
I'm really deeply curious to see what Apple does with the Vision Pro I mean it has
55:21
essentially how do I phrase this become irrelevant you know and I
55:27
don't really mean that it's re irrelevant because it's not but you don't really hear about it Apple hasn't
55:33
really done anything big since they released it I mean they're making incremental changes they're improving it slowly which is good but like what's the
55:41
next big thing for Vision Pro like it didn't have the impact I I I don't think they were hoping for although we read a
55:46
lot of stories to be fair we read a lot of stories that Apple knew this wasn't going to be a huge seller like this is
55:51
just introducing a device this is the best that they can make it and from this point forward they will probably have different versions of it and so on and
55:58
so forth I feel like I can't gesticulate as good without this I'm missing this this is this is the key are you now are
56:03
you paying attention better Sor are you gonna say something Griffin it owning The Vision Pro feels like owning a
56:09
television in like 1945 like TV isn't mainstream yet but you know you want an expensive toy to play with it or like
56:16
you know owning an Apple 2 in 1977 like just when it came out before
56:21
there's really a lot of software for it but you know I found a use case for it you know I I I use it for work every day
56:28
where i'm just writing and I'm not doing video or anything else like that wow it's for you know again watching watching TV
56:36
if TV isn't the only thing you're doing like if you're also watching you know doing disss or something like that because it's floating on an imaginary
56:43
screen in front of you in that way um I have I have one more bringing it back to
56:48
the uh top strap sure there is one more revelatory change that going without the
56:55
light seal has and that is that I can scratch my nose in my face oh that's
57:01
nice block you you can I can just reach and like you know scratch my eyebrow or touch my nose if it's
57:08
itchy and when you know that you can't then it itches like five times worse you
57:13
know like all of this adds up to making it so that when I'm wearing my Vision Pro it doesn't feel like I'm putting on
57:19
a mask so much as it feels like I'm putting on big weird glasses yeah I like to be situationally
57:27
aware so I think that's appealing to me is to be able to use it maybe without the light seal I mean I don't have one
57:34
anymore I I returned it but um that would be enticing for me to at least
57:40
have that option I'm really looking forward to whatever the next iteration of it is I hope that it's compelling I
57:45
hope that it's something that has some actual practical use cases
57:51
for my everyday life because that was the thing about Vision Pro that kind of got me to return and I was like it's
57:56
$4,000 like is this providing me $44,000 worth of value and I was like it's definitely not and it's so heavy that I
58:03
don't feel like I want to wear it all that often screens weren't quite as didn't really have that wow factor that
58:10
I was hoping for they were good but not quite as good as I was hoping for and I
58:15
just hope that the next thing is like really compelling but I also hope that apple is committed to just having this
58:22
thing lose money for a while I'm sure that they probably are they have spent
58:27
so much money developing this thing that I imagine that they're committed for a length of time to just to give it enough
58:34
time to see if it will take off right maybe five years or even 10 years or whatever it is and they're like we're
58:39
going to just keep making this thing better we're going to keep devoting resources to it and we're not going to give up because it's not selling well
58:44
because I I do think that the like the the premise is there and seeing all
58:50
those videos of creators using them all around remember how I mean it was ubiquitous it was it was like a
58:56
worldwide phenomenon for probably a week people are walking around wearing them on their face everywhere Cas see nice
59:03
stats doing videos and stuff and now all those you know creators have moved on but I do think that those ridiculous
59:10
videos actually were true being able to have a computer on your face and have it
59:15
have Windows in your peripheral vision or directly in front of you as you're going about the real world that was one
59:21
of the best parts about it being able to be brushing my teeth in my bathroom
59:26
while I have like a YouTube video on and like this huge display you know just off in the center or off center in my
59:33
bathroom or something while I'm doing other things like that was so cool I would love to have something like that my wife would hate it but I think it'd
59:41
be pretty pretty useful just in everyday life your kids start whining and complaining it's like you just Tri up
59:47
the inear noise cancellation and you just fade away into beautiful peace you
59:53
know what I'm saying so we never had a chance to like like write a story on this we we might still but um people
59:59
noticed that on eBay you can buy a basically Brand New Vision Pro for I
1:00:05
think when at the time we checked it was like 1,800 or 19 no
1:00:10
way we have talked those deals disappeared though is that a price that you would bite at if they were to come
1:00:17
back at like say there's a say there's a Vision Pro with like an auction price at750 would you buy that okay let's
1:00:23
let's bring this up so looks like most of these are
1:00:29
used here's one that's brand new 2500 bucks or best
1:00:35
offer new new I think there's probably a lot of people who are selling their Vision Pro as new even though it's not new okay hold on we got to look at sold
1:00:42
prices to your question probably not I I think that $1800 is still too much for
1:00:47
the value that it provided me okay these are definitely not what I was looking for um VR headsets consumer electronics
1:00:54
let's try that okay so they're selling pre-owned for about
1:01:01
$2,700 so if you want one dang this one's brand new
1:01:07
3,400 and there's not a ton of them for sale actually take that back there are a lot of them aren't there
1:01:14
wow so I think for me I mean no joke and
1:01:20
I don't say this to be edgy or controversial I really think that it
1:01:25
would have to be around $1,000 for me to actually buy one and use it in its current form like I think it provided me
1:01:31
$1,000 wor the value and probably not more than that and but that's because
1:01:37
like I already have a beautiful TV I yeah Cory beat from the chat yeah
1:01:44
unfortunately it I don't think it has an ip68 rating so I can't take it in my shower so that's a problem for me
1:01:50
personally um so I await the waterproof version but the things that it did well
1:01:57
it didn't do better than any of the devices that it was meant to replace and
1:02:03
so it wasn't worth buying for that reason and then it was Heavy it was bulky carrying the battery pack around
1:02:10
was kind of cumbersome and weird and so there's just a lot of things that need to get ironed out again I think it has
1:02:17
the promise of being really cool like if they can shrink it keep the battery Central to the unit itself balance out
1:02:23
the weight so it's not uncomfortable and bring the price way down I could
1:02:29
totally see wearing this thing in some like Back to the Future 2 future
1:02:34
scenario where there's like crazy Tech that people are wearing that actually helps you and improves your life but I
1:02:40
think we're years away from that but I don't know I mean that's probably closer
1:02:46
than level five autonomous driving we'll probably get the better
1:02:51
Vision Pro before we get level five completely autonomous driving that we've been promised every year
1:02:56
and that Tesla's selling you know autonomous driving hardware for which is probably not going to be here for another 10 years at
1:03:03
least spatial Computing is working the quest spatial
1:03:09
Computing is working on the quest already kind of says Zach Duel from the chat yeah I don't know probably
1:03:16
not very well I would imagine but yeah the killer app that's true it's still
1:03:21
it's just still kind of missing I was hoping the entertainment Factor would be the one but
1:03:26
although the theater mode in Vision Pro that was pretty cool like being able to watch a theater in the middle of Joshua
1:03:33
Tree was definitely one of those wow features and they have they have two new
1:03:39
environments now they have a Bora Bora like a nice Sandy white Beach and they
1:03:44
have a spooky Lake which is my new a spooky White Lake is it from yeah
1:03:50
it's it's it's like the one that's like all foggy and like you see like a tree in the distance uh I think they
1:03:56
officially say it's like some Lake in Denmark or something like that I just call it spooky Lake because it's a
1:04:01
spooky Lake sounds like a new attraction at Disney oh man we should we should we
1:04:07
should do our Disney episode part two we did the Disney episode I think part one
1:04:12
months ago and now is like the perfect time to did you guys hear all the Disney news did you guys hear it no I I'd have
1:04:18
to I'd have to relisten to that off topic before I probably would have to do that so Disney just announced a bunch of
1:04:23
changes before before you move on to that I did want to at least close out this um yeah this segment of the review
1:04:29
um yeah if if you do have a Vision Pro and you want and and you also like the augmented
1:04:35
reality mode I highly recommend this product it's easily the cheapest way to get it uh it's really unbelievably only
1:04:42
only $40 so after you max out every single credit card and you spend every dime of savings that you have bu Pro
1:04:49
this is easy on the wallet yeah this I got a request yeah you got to put the thing on because uh it looks like with
1:04:57
that strap on your it looks like it might make the Vision Pro look even weirder you do you can you put it on a
1:05:04
benefit is that because the there's no light seal you can actually see a little bit of my actual face when I'm looking
1:05:10
at and you don't have to depend on is say but sure I'll put it on dude that show we did my head no worries that show
1:05:16
that we did with the vision Pros on was one of the most difficult shows we ever did like I could barely see through
1:05:21
those dang things everything was blurry I cannot believe we pulled that off
1:05:27
hang on I'm fiddling with the battery here Alles all the fiddling got a fiddle see
1:05:32
this is the thing so much fiddling too much FD actually too much watch how much easier this is to put on all right
1:05:39
because I I don't have to like fiddle with the light seal or anything like that I can just like pinch it onto my face oh my goodness I'm not sure about how I feel about Griffin with no glasses
1:05:45
on he just took his glasses off ladies and gentlemen
1:05:51
oh look at this look at his hair well uh he looks like a
1:05:58
hang on kind of looks like he's got one of those uh those those like what are they called the things that some skiers
1:06:04
wear that like yeah it's it's like a headband but it's really thick head he's got the headband on now you paint that
1:06:11
thing red white and blue and you got the you got the thing that earthon was just talking about you we've come full circle
1:06:17
he's literally got the headband on from pre-show there it is wow you definitely need to paint that thing red white and
1:06:22
blue and you'll be you'll be Lewis future Lewis from 1970 I mean with
1:06:30
Griffin with a nice set of hair I mean that thing is so funky looking I I mean it just it looks you look like Whitney
1:06:37
Houston cir a 1993 with that thing on with that headband on and like and like her her like curly hair coming out the
1:06:42
top yeah can you imagine if you didn't have a good head of hair like that though didn't it would probably look
1:06:48
more normal I think that my my Conan O'Brien is working against me when I wear this thing because when I have it
1:06:53
on it's just like you know you do have Conan hair you got that
1:06:59
Conan volume that's that's that's a great observation I I never would have thought about that but it's 100% true
1:07:04
because his hair goes straight up just like yours MH very voluminous is it
1:07:10
called the Gumby or what the gumy gumy have
1:07:15
that like that cow look look I don't know all right well
1:07:22
look that's it that's all the cult cast we for you
1:07:27

1:07:32

1:08:34

1:08:41
uh with the headband woven into it on the top of it man they probably tried
1:08:48
that and when they saw what it did to people's head or hair they're like yeah we we can't sell this we can't sell this
