Hey, what's up guys, Stephen Cults of Mac here and after months of rumours we finally
0:05
got a date for Apple's next Mac event, which will take place in less than a week on Thursday
0:10
27th October. So with that date cemented, I wanted to give you a quick rundown of everything we can expect
0:16
from the event. So let's get started. First and foremost are the rumours of a brand new MacBook Pro
0:27
Now the MacBook Pro hasn't seen an update in years at this point, which means there's
0:31
much anticipation to see what Apple's going to deliver. The big reveal is supposedly the so-called Magic Toolbar, which replaces the function
0:38
keys on your Mac and can change depending on which app you're using at the time
0:42
Apple wouldn't be the first tech company to experiment with this concept, but it could
0:46
be the first to do well. I've already filmed an in-depth video on the Magic Toolbar, so if you'd like to see that
0:52
I'll make sure to leave a link in the description down below. So in keeping with changes Apple has made to its MacBooks, I'd expect to see the MacBook
0:59
Pro also come with USB-C. Thankfully it's not too big of a deal as most manufacturers
1:03
are starting to produce external hard drives and so on with USB-C, but it does mean saying
1:08
goodbye to the much-loved MagSafe in order to make way for the USB-C ports
1:13
In addition, I'd expect to see a redesigned case, something more similar to the MacBooks
1:17
with the Space Grey, Gold and Rose Gold finishes and a slightly thinner bezel
1:22
As usual, the latest MacBook Pro should also be snappier, thanks to the addition of the
1:25
Intel Skylake processor. There's also a good chance that we'll see the 11-inch MacBook Air finally fly off to
1:31
the Apple Museum in the sky in favour of a 12-inch Retina MacBook
1:35
But will we get an update for the 13-inch MacBook Air? We'll have to wait and see
1:40
Another thing that we could well witness on October 27th are brand new iMacs
1:44
Apple typically gives us new Macs around the time of a new macOS launch and I don't expect
1:49
this year to be any different. Again with the updated Skylake processors and DDR4 RAM
1:55
The two things I'd love to see announced but a few on rumours are a brand new Mac Pro
1:59
and a 5K Cinema display. The Mac Pro hasn't seen an update in nearly three years
2:04
Whilst they're still pretty damn fast, they are in desperate need of a refresh
2:08
Also, the Apple Cinema displays would really benefit from taking the 5K display from the
2:12
iMacs and placing it into its own unit. Last but not least, I suspect we'll see the release of the new AirPods
2:19
They were announced at Apple's September iPhone event and are due for release in late October
2:24
This is the perfect opportunity to do so. Well, that's all we know or think we know so far but fortunately we won't have to wait
2:31
too long to find out. Let me know in the comments section down below what you're hoping to see at Apple's Mac event
