hey everyone this is Michael with C to
0:06
ma here and today we're looking at
0:07
iTunes 11 the newest version of iTunes
0:10
that just came out today and this is
0:12
what Apple's done in the last couple
0:14
years with iTunes so I launched it up
0:17
for the first time here and all I have
0:19
to do is agree it kind of shows you
0:21
what's going on here so I can hit agree
0:24
and now we're in iTunes so this is our
0:27
main uh music view here and of course I
0:31
can choose uh what I want to look at by
0:33
selecting something on the sidebar here
0:35
so if for example I go to
0:37
podcast now I can see all my podcasts
0:40
just like this uh I can look at my apps
0:43
I can go to TV shows and I don't have
0:46
any TV shows everything that used to be
0:47
in the sidebar is now accessible through
0:49
this little menu right here so it kind
0:51
of cleans up the interface takes
0:53
everything away from that big list of
0:55
course you can also sort your music or
0:57
videos by different categories so I can
0:59
look at songs here and see an
1:01
alphabetical listing of
1:04
songs or I can look at the album view
1:07
artist and you can see that for every
1:09
view you get a different interface that
1:11
kind of corresponds with what you're
1:12
looking at so when I'm in album view
1:14
here if I click on an album you can see
1:16
that it drops down like this kind of
1:17
like a folder on iOS and it shows you
1:20
all the songs in the album here I have a
1:21
little arrow that shows me some options
1:23
so I can add this so that it'll play up
1:25
next after the current song I can make
1:27
some genius playlists with it and and I
1:30
can show this in the iTunes Store as
1:32
well and of course if I start playing
1:34
the song It'll play just like it does on
1:37
the old iTunes with this little LCD
1:39
thing up here but now it's kind of a
1:41
gray window now when this is playing
1:44
what I can do is I can switch to this
1:45
mini player here and it popped over on
1:47
my other screen and the mini player here
1:49
shows you you know your track title and
1:51
info is and when you roll over the
1:53
window you can play the song or skip
1:56
ahead to the next song and access your
2:00
AirPlay settings and then clicking that
2:02
little tiny square right there will
2:03
bring it back up to full size now if we
2:05
go into the iTunes Store we can see that
2:07
it now looks almost identical to what it
2:10
looks like on iOS you have this kind of
2:12
rotating Carousel up here and you have
2:15
these albums like this presented in a
2:18
sliding panel and this carries across a
2:20
store so if I go to music here you can
2:23
see that I have the same type of
2:24
interface up at the top and these
2:27
sliding panels here with all these
2:29
different albums and songs in them so
2:31
overall this is a lot faster and a lot
2:33
more simple than iTunes 10 and I think
2:36
it looks really great and they've made a
2:38
lot of UI enhancements to it that really
2:40
kind of bring it up to par with what
2:42
we've been seeing on iOS recently so
2:45
there's just a quick look at iTunes 11
2:47
if you have anything else you'd like me
2:48
