hey everyone this is Michael with Cult
0:06
of Mac here and today we have a look at
0:08
Google Chrome for iOS now this just
0:11
launched in the iTunes app store and
0:13
basically it's just like Chrome on the
0:15
desktop at least as much as it can be on
0:18
a mobile device so you can see here we
0:20
can just sign in with our Google account
0:22
and everything will start to syn over we
0:24
press sign in here and it's going to ask
0:26
for our push notifications we can hit
0:28
okay and now we can see we have Chrome
0:29
here
0:30
and it allows us to do a couple
0:31
different things we can take a tour so
0:33
if we press take a tour it'll launch a
0:35
web page and it gives you different tips
0:37
for Chrome which you can slide through
0:40
like this and let's just go to the end
0:42
here it says ready search to type a URL
0:45
or start browsing so it's pretty simple
0:46
operation so in Chrome here we get the
0:48
option to do a couple different things
0:50
we can press this button here and we can
0:51
do a new tab a new incognito tab we can
0:54
look at our bookmarks other devices
0:55
email finding page request desktop site
0:58
settings or help so for example if we go
1:01
to other devices we can see that on my
1:03
iMac I have Google homepage open and I
1:06
can open that up and everything syns
1:08
across devices similar to how Safari
1:10
works in iOS 6 we also have the option
1:13
of course to open up a new tab with a
1:15
new tab you have a couple different
1:16
options first of all you can see across
1:18
devices you can look at your mobile
1:21
bookmarks or you can look at most
1:23
visited similar to how Chrome and the
1:24
desktop works of course we can also open
1:26
a new incognito tab and that kind of
1:29
gives the the UI a different color and
1:32
you can see that now nothing will appear
1:34
in history as far as settings go we have
1:37
a few options it shows you know your
1:39
Chrome account search engine you can
1:41
save your passwords voice search clear
1:43
browsing data and all your different
1:44
standard stuff you'd expect to see in
1:46
Chrome you also can open up your tabs
1:48
like this and you can look at your
1:50
Incognito tabs this way and then if you
1:53
slide over you can see all your regular
1:54
tabs and you can slide through these
1:56
just like this so this is quite a bit
1:58
different than what Safari offers and
2:00
for example we can select the welcome
2:01
Tab and then we can bring it out and
2:04
then go back to the Google tab if we
2:05
want and it's quite a bit faster to run
2:08
than Safari is now if we look at Chrome
2:09
on the iPad it's quite a bit different
2:11
it looks a lot more like Chrome does on
2:13
the desktop you have your tabs up on the
2:14
top right here and to launch a new tab
2:16
you press this button just like you
2:18
normally would and down on the bottom
2:20
you have you know most visited bookmarks
2:22
and other devices now you don't have uh
2:24
different plugins and uh web apps and
2:26
different extensions like you do on the
2:28
desktop but that's to be Ed as this is
2:30
mobile so now here you can see that I
2:32
have it on my iPhone and my iMac and I
2:35
can select you a tab from whatever
2:37
device I want to if I want to do a voice
2:39
search I can search right up here with
2:41
there's a little microphone button
2:43
Chrome for
2:46
iOS now it says Chrome for Iowa and I'm
2:48
a little bit far away from the
2:50
microphone but you can get the idea of
2:52
how it works now I also have a menu
2:53
right here just like I do in the iPhone
2:55
version where I can select a new tab new
2:57
incognito tab bookmarks and things like
3:00
that so that's a look at Chrome for iOS
3:02
uh it seems pretty nice it seems pretty
3:04
fast although it's not as fast as Safari
3:06
because it cannot use the nitro engine
3:08
that Safari gets uh but it's pretty
3:10
decent and there's the first look this
3:13
is Michael with culac thank you for
