One thing that makes iPhones so great is how each one can be so different, thanks to all the applications available, the many different ways to organize your home screen and all the other customization options that help you make Apple's smartphone your own.
In today's Cult of Mac video, Ste shares what's on his iPhone 6. Find out how he keeps his iPhone organized, which apps he uses most and more.

Hey, what's up guys, Stephen Cult of Mac here and today I thought I'd do something a little
0:05
bit different and take you through a tour on what's on my iPhone SE
0:09
So let's get started. So just before anyone asks, I'm using the sticky case from Xfida on my iPhone SE
0:17
It's one I had lying around for my iPhone 5S days but it's a lovely case, it's got a
0:22
really nice soft rubberised feel on it. I also covered a product from Xfida the other day so make sure to check that out on the
0:28
channel as well. So let's get right into it. Unlocking my screen, you can see that I keep everything pretty much stock
0:34
I've then got the YouTube app because I am constantly watching YouTube videos when I'm
0:37
not making them. I've got the standard Twitter client. I have tried other Twitter clients in the past like Tweetbot and things like that but
0:45
I'm not the biggest tweeter out there so it doesn't really matter to me that much
0:50
It does everything that I need it to do basically. Next to that I've got the remote app which I pretty much use for whenever I lose my Apple
0:56
TV remotes because they're so damn small. I've got two Apple TVs, I've got the third generation down in my cinema room to watch
1:03
movies on that I play through iTunes and then I've also got the latest Apple TV with the
1:08
Siri remote in my living room. It's just great for when I've got friends around because it's got all the games on it
1:13
and things like that so it makes more sense for that one to be in my living room
1:17
Then down below I've got the LIFX app which I love. I've got these LIFX bulbs dotted about the house
1:22
Here's my office just behind me so I can control the light from my phone so when I'm shooting
1:27
these videos if a light is too bright or it's not the right colour or anything like
1:31
that I can change it through and decide on what colour I'd like to have in the background
1:36
basically or even pointing at me. I do use them sometimes for that
1:40
Then next to that I've got the podcast app which is basically for listening to the cult
1:45
cast each week even though I speak to Leander and Buster and that all week long I still
1:50
enjoy listening to their conversations on there. Then also think just the obvious ones like Serial and Filler
1:55
Filler is a great podcast if you are in the creative world in any respect and you've got
2:00
great interviews from all different people in all different walks of life
2:04
Then I've got Slack which is what we use to communicate on Cult of Mac because we're dotted
2:08
all around the world in different time zones so it's just a really great app to speak to
2:12
each other and it's what I get requests for videos from the Cult of Mac team and photos
2:16
and things like that. Across the bottom I've got the three apps I use the most, Calls, Text and Safari
2:23
I've tried other browsers, I like Safari, it syncs up to my iMac and my MacBook so it
2:28
works perfectly for me. I've only got the 16GB iPhone SE, I tend to buy 16GB iPhones purely because it's the cheapest
2:35
one on the lot and I tend to sell them and upgrade them very often so it just makes the
2:40
most financial sense. Plus I never really fill them up that much, I'm not a big gamer
2:47
Photos and videos I sync to my iMac and external hard drives all the time so it doesn't get
2:52
full in that respect. But because I do have the 16GB version I use the Spotify app as opposed to storing music
2:57
on the phone so at the moment I'm listening to a lot of Gregory Porter
3:02
If you're into jazz you probably know about him already. Then if we move across you can see that everything has got it's place here
3:08
I like to keep everything organised, I don't like having apps dotted about
3:13
So the first folder is extras and it's basically everything that Apple won't let me delete
3:17
Then I've got my smart applications folder which is basically all of the apps that work
3:21
with a separate product. So the first one up I've got Sky, Sky is my TV and internet provider so I can record
3:29
TV shows and view TV shows when I'm on the move using this app
3:33
Then I've got Black iPhone, Black iPhone is great if you get a lot of unsolicited calls
3:37
that have blocked numbers, so call centres and things like that, that will block them
3:41
out for you. So I've got Libretone, I live and die by Libretone speakers, I love them
3:46
So I've got the app to manage them as I've currently got two. I've then got things like Locksmart and Mac ID which I've covered on the channel recently
3:53
Then I've got my social folder which started off to house all of the social apps as Facebook
3:57
and Instagram and Twitter but it's kind of got a bit overcrowded with photo editing apps
4:02
and other things like that, Snapchat, Snapchat's not one I use very often
4:07
After social I've got shopping, as I do work from home I tend to be here most hours of
4:12
the day so most of my shopping is done through here. I've got Amazon for my impulse purchasing, Ebay for when I want to sell my old tech and
4:21
PayPal for sending money and receiving money, I find that's a great way to easily transfer
4:25
money about. Then after that I've got the work folder which is basically all of the apps I use for Cult
4:30
of Mac, I've got the YouTube Studio app in there so I can see how many views my videos
4:34
are getting right at that minute. I've got Gmail for all of the Cult of Mac emails, I've got the Cult of Mac app
4:42
If like me you work a hell of a ton and sometimes you miss some stories on Cult of Mac, we release
4:46
a weekly magazine with all of the best stories from the website
4:51
We've upgraded the app recently so it's all nicely animated, all works well, you get full
4:56
screen images so make sure to check that out, I work hard on the magazine covers for you
5:02
so hopefully you'll like them. Then I've got Rode Rec which is what I use whenever I'm using my lavalier mic for the
5:09
videos and things like that. I'm currently using the Rode NT-USB mic which is a big improvement over the sounder I think
5:17
Then I've got things like Dropbox and Playmemories, Playmemories is great if you've got a Sony
5:21
camera with NFC so you can transfer images straight from the camera to your phone
5:26
Then the last folder is Entertainment, I don't have a ton of time to play games so I've only
5:31
got one or two really. Masquerade, Masquerade is a brilliant app for just playing around, my daughter loves
5:37
this as well so it tracks your face and it places other things on there so right now
5:42
I'm Jimmy Kimmel. Then I've got the BBC iPlayer radio app, I don't listen to the radio very often but when
5:48
I do I like to listen to Jamie Cullum's jazz playlist that he does each week
5:52
One of the few games I do have on here is Stack, so basically you stack up tiles on
5:57
top of each other as perfectly as you can and when they overlap they start chopping
6:02
off edges so it gets harder and harder and faster and faster as you go on
6:07
Then I've got Steve, now Steve is an interesting app because it's a game that opens up in my
6:11
notifications drawer or whatever you want to call it but basically I don't have to wait
6:16
for this to load up or boot up or anything like that and it's just an endless runner
6:22
Then in the notifications I've got Mac ID so I can unlock my Macbook or my iMac right
6:28
from my phone or even my Apple Watch, I've covered that on the channel yesterday so if
6:32
you haven't seen that go and check that out. Then I've got the batteries calendar, then I've got the Lifix app there as well, Amazon
6:41
and Dropbox. Well, that's it for this video but let me know in the comments down below if you like
6:45
seeing these types of videos, there's a ton more we could do whether it's a room tour
6:50
or showing you what gear I use to film these videos, let me know in the comments down below
6:55
