What's up everybody, Steve from Cults of Mac here back with another quick tips video
0:06
It has been a while I know. But in this one I am going to show you how to share photos, documents, pretty much anything
0:12
from the files app to other users in a very similar way to how Dropbox works
0:15
Let's throw 60 seconds on the clock and get started. First you need to have iCloud set up
0:21
I'm guessing that's already the case but if not I'll leave a link on how to do so down below
0:26
If you're all good to go, head into the files app and find the file or folder you'd like to share with other people, then tap the share icon in the bottom left
0:33
Underneath the usual message, mail and notes settings you'll see an add people icon
0:38
Click on that and then you're presented with a few options. You can choose whether the invitation is open to anyone or just the people you invite and
0:45
whether they can make changes to it or view only. Then choose how you'd like to send the invitation, whether through messages, mail or by copying
0:52
a link. Once you've chosen your method and settings, add in the emails or phone numbers for those
0:57
you'd like to share the files with. Then hit copy link and send that personally or hit send and it'll share straight to them
1:04
Once done, others can see the files even as you update them whenever they like
1:08
This is super handy if you're collaborating with people on a document or if you just want to share some precious photos with your family
1:15
Stop the clock and that is it for this video. If you've found it useful, like, share, subscribe if you haven't already and I'll catch you
