this case from a company called Case
0:03
Coup that I'd never heard of before
0:06
called the the the box says that it's
0:08
the Magic Stand and you can see some
0:10
holographic
0:11
Oh wow
0:12
images on the front of it case.
0:15
Yeah. Yeah.
0:15
That's very very cool.
0:17
Now this is not the case that they sent
0:19
me. I don't know why they sent it in
0:20
this box. They sent me a different case,
0:22
but we're going to take a look at that
0:24
inside.
0:26
What is going on? There's a very good
0:28
reason for that. This case is a very
0:30
bright orange, which is the first clue.
0:33
Is that orange?
0:35
It's It's inside.
0:38
I'm going to take it out here.
0:39
Oh, it's coming out of the envelope.
0:40
Mhm. Because this
0:42
Oh, okay. Now, that is orange.
0:45
Yeah, this case is interesting because
0:47
this is not an iPhone 16 Pro case. This
0:50
is an iPhone 17 Pro case
0:52
that they have sent me to look at. They
0:54
say that this uh color of orange they
0:56
have matched to the color of the iPhone
0:59
17 Pro.
1:00
Wow.
1:02
I will say that the build quality
1:03
doesn't seem excellent. So maybe this
1:04
case manufacturer isn't uh you know top
1:07
tier. Like the they have a little camera
1:09
control cutout here that's a little
1:11
wobbly where the thin part of the case
1:13
is.
1:15
So what I'm going to try and do and see
1:16
if I can fit my iPhone 16 Pro inside it
1:18
and see how close of a match it is. If
1:20
that's really the color that's that
1:22
that's going to be hot.
1:24
Yeah, they they've sort of gone for a
1:25
chrome shiny plastic finish. I don't
1:28
know if that's
1:28
Yeah, it's got like an Iron Man suit
1:30
kind of vibe to it.
1:31
Mhm. Uh so let's see how close of a
1:33
match it is if it if you can fit a 16
1:37
Pro inside.
1:39
Stretch it. Oh yeah, it fits pretty
1:41
well. I I think the rumor is that maybe
1:43
that the the 16 17 Pro might be a little
1:46
bit larger. So it feels like there's a
1:48
little little give around the edge of
1:50
it. Uh but yeah, you can see like you
1:52
know when you have the phone inside a
1:54
case uh you know there's a big gap
1:56
around the the camera plateau like it's
1:59
you know it spans the whole width of the
2:01
phone. There's this cutout for the uh
2:03
camera flash and LAR sensor that my
2:05
phone isn't you know lining up with. But
2:08
I think this is broadly telling us that
2:10
uh cases will be backwards compatible.
2:12
Like you you know you buy a 17 Pro case,
2:14
it'll still fit a 16 Pro case. I mean, a
2:16
16 Pro phone kind of reasonably. Not a
2:19
big change in dimension there.
2:21
And and the but the Apple logo, it's
2:23
it's it's centered. The rumor was it was
2:25
going to move down lower, but that one
2:28
um is is lined up perfectly with your
2:30
old logo.
2:31
Not quite centered. The Apple logo of
2:34
the phone, the 16 Pro is sitting a
2:36
little bit too high inside the MagSafe
2:39
ring of the 17 Pro case.
2:41
So maybe there is some truth to it then.
2:43
It's going to move, but like about 3 mm,
2:45
not
2:46
Yeah. You'll notice there's no uh camera
2:48
cutout on the top. So, I think that puts
2:50
that rumor to bed. Not that we really
2:52
believed it anyways.
2:53
Oh, debunked. Totally debunked. Yeah.
2:55
Wow.
2:56
Yeah. But, you know, if this is the if
2:57
this is the shade of orange it is, then
2:58
I think we have a a good reason to be
3:00
excited.
3:01
That's definitely not muted. That's not
3:02
some horrible pro color. That's a nice
3:03
poppy color.
3:04
Mhm.
3:05
You know, maybe they Do you think it'll
3:06
be a bit more matty?
3:08
Yeah. I I think that they've maybe just
3:09
gone for like a sort of shiny finish and
3:11
like this is the shade that it'll be but
3:13
probably not the uh optical, you know,
3:15
quality of, you know, what what what
3:17
Apple's finish is going to look like.
3:19
And how much of the camera bump at the
3:20
back? So, it it'll it'll it'll look more
3:22
orange at the top there, won't it? On
3:23
the camera bump.
3:24
Yeah. No, I just noticed like there's
3:26
So, the design of this case, uh the
3:28
camera bump isn't completely open. They
3:30
do have a little plastic strip that sits
3:32
between the three lenses and where the
3:35
uh flash and lighter sensor will go. And
3:37
I'm noticing that the little plastic
3:39
bridge they have there has some give to
3:41
it. But that tells me that maybe like
3:43
the glass plateau is going to be a
3:45
little higher. You know, I can imagine
3:47
fitting like a a 17 Pro inside here. It
3:49
probably wouldn't have that much wiggle
3:51
to it.
3:52
Yeah. It would sit flush with the um the
3:55
elevated camera island.
3:56
Yeah. Yeah. And you know, fiddling
3:59
around in my hands, it it does feel like
4:00
there's a little wiggle in here. So
4:01
maybe the 17 Pro will be getting a
4:03
little bigger, maybe a little thicker.
4:05
Um but just slightly. It's hard to tell
4:07
how much of that is, you know, this has
4:08
been sized for a slightly bigger phone
4:10
and how much of it is this is a slightly
4:12
imprecisely made case.
4:14
Yeah, I was obviously one of the I mean
4:16
it I guess a prototypey maybe it's
4:20
they'll tweak the design. I like that um
4:22
that stand though. The um the popsocket
4:24
thing.
4:24
That is very clever. Yeah, that that's a
4:26
neat thing about this case. It has a uh
4:28
the the sort of mag safe ring around it
4:30
flips down so you have a a stand if you
4:33
want that you could use.
4:34
Is it sturdy? It looks It looks
4:36
It is pretty sturdy. It has a you know a
4:38
bit of a bit of resistance when you
4:40
adjust it up and down. So, it feels
4:41
pretty nice.
4:42
That looks like a nice case.
4:44
Mhm. Uh Lewis, I don't think we've
4:45
gotten your opinion on the colors since
4:48
you've been gone the last three weeks.
4:49
What What do you feel about this shade
4:50
of orange?
4:52
It, you know, uh
4:55
I I mean, I think I've been craving a
4:57
bright orange phone forever. Uh my
5:01
concern is that it'll end up being um
5:04
less flashy than that case. Less flashy
5:07
than it could be. It'll end up looking
5:08
like uh I don't know either either like
5:12
a a copper tone
5:15
ad, you know, from remember that uh
5:17
Yeah.
5:19
rusty.
5:19
Yeah. Like like it'll be it'll just be a
5:22
little too mature. Uh or or it'll be
5:26
more like a dreamsicle, you know, like
5:27
it'll be like somehow what I would
5:30
really like to see is something just
5:31
like
5:32
completely like glittery spark sparkly
5:38
uh like a an old carnival ride. That's
5:40
that's what I always think they need to
5:42
do, you know, or or you know, bright
5:43
red, you know, even just a bright red
5:46
product red iPhone Pro. I I swear people
5:49
would go for it, but
5:50
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, we had this
5:52
we've had this debate like, you know,
5:54
add in an item like for the last three
5:55
weeks talking about these colors, but I
5:57
you know, totally agree. Yeah, that the
5:58
product reds are some of the nicest
6:00
looking colors that they do. I think
6:02
quite bold colors
6:03
and the the ultramarine or aquamarine uh
6:06
for the of the current um the the
6:08
regular iPhone, that's a lovely lovely
6:10
looking color,
6:11
right? Yeah. I mean, I I can't wait to
6:13
see what it actually looks like. I hope
6:14
that it's uh you know a a real like
6:18
standout kind of gorgeous orange. Uh I'm
6:22
a little afraid it'll be kind of muted
6:25
and
6:27
appleley.
6:28
Yeah. Right. We'll see in a month. So
6:31
what was the name of that case again
6:32
Griffin?
6:32
This is the I don't know if they have a
6:34
name for this particular case yet but
6:36
the the company that sent it to me is
6:38
called Case. C A S E K O O and magic
6:43
stand the magic stand.
6:46
This actually is the magic stand. Um
6:48
yeah,
6:49
it's not holographic, I'll tell you that
6:50
much, but it does does have a stand.
6:54
All right. Very cool. Very cool demo.
