The invites are out and the rumours are in. Apple's March 21st event has been confirmed
0:05
with the title Let Us Loop You In. So with that in mind, let us loop you in
0:14
The new device will most likely be called the iPhone SE, with SE standing for Special
0:18
Edition. You may have heard some rumours calling the device the 6C, which made sense because
0:23
it's expected to be cheap just as the 2013 iPhone 5C was. There was also a period of
0:28
time where the device was referred to as the iPhone 5 SE, however last month it was
0:33
reported that Apple either dropped the 5 from the title or it was just always going to be
0:37
called the SE. But what will it look like? Pretty much exactly
0:42
like the iPhone 5S, only the edges of the glass display will be curved like on the iPhone
0:47
6 and 6S, making it feel a little bit slimmer in your hand. Case designs that have leaked
0:52
show the power button will still be on the top, with the mute switch and volume knobs
0:56
on the side, just like the 5S. Colour options will reportedly include gold, silver, space
1:01
grey and rose gold, and are said to pack a 4-inch retina display. It's unclear whether
1:06
the rear casing will be exactly the same as the 5S, or if it will look more like the 6
1:11
body that makes it look like one piece of metal. We have seen zero leaked parts for
1:15
the rear case, so Apple could still pull out a few surprises. The iPhone SE will pack the
1:20
same A9 processor found in the 6S and 6S Plus. It's unclear how much RAM the new iPhone
1:26
will contain, probably somewhere between 2 and 1GB. Though we're guessing at the 1GB
1:32
of RAM as Apple is known to skimp on memory where it's not necessary. Having the A9
1:36
processor should mean the iPhone SE should also include A-series support. When it comes to storage, don't expect a lot. The baseline model will probably come
1:45
with 16GB. Apple will likely offer a 64GB model too, which is better than the 16 and
1:50
32GB options the iPhone 5C debuted with. But hoping for a 128GB model is most likely futile
1:58
For many iPhone owners, the smartphone is their only camera, and Apple is embracing
2:02
this now more than ever. So it's supposedly putting in one of the best cameras ever made
2:07
in the iPhone SE. The sensor will likely be the same 12MP sensor found in the iPhone 6
2:13
Instead of the slightly better 12MP sensor in the 6S. It probably won't include 4K video
2:19
but should get live photos and slow motion shooting at 240fps. The front facing camera
2:24
will come in at 8MP just like the 6 and 6S. Apple Pay should be included on the iPhone
2:30
SE, but there are no signs of 3D touch. So what about the price? When I said cheap, it's
2:36
going to be Apple cheap. So it's still going to be way more expensive than most budget
2:40
Android smartphones. The starting price for the SE is probably going to start between
2:44
$399 and $499. Pre-orders may be available immediately after Apple's event on March
2:51
21st or within a few days after. iPhone SE units could arrive at Apple stores as soon
2:56
as Friday March 25th. But make sure to head over to our website on Monday March 21st for
