Hey what's up guys, Stephen Culls of Mac here back with another quick tips video and
0:07
in this one I'm going to show you how to screen record your Apple TV with your Mac
0:10
There's tons of different ways to do this but with macOS High Sierra it's easier
0:14
than ever. Let's throw 60 seconds on the clock and get started
0:19
You may be asking why would you want to record your Apple TV? But perhaps you want to review games or apps or just show your mum how to use it
0:27
Thankfully it's super easy. Just open up QuickTime on your Mac and make sure it's connected to the same Wi-Fi network
0:33
as your Apple TV. Then go to the toolbar at the top, click on file and then choose new movie recording
0:39
A new window will then open where you should see your webcam if you have one
0:42
Hover over the window to bring up the controls and settings, then click on the arrow icon
0:46
to bring down other sources. If your Apple TV is connected to the same Wi-Fi and everything is up to date, you should
0:52
see the name of it in there. I have a few Apple TVs at home so I'm going to choose the main one in the living room
0:59
You'll then be asked to pair up the Mac with the Apple TV by entering a code for your first
1:02
time or simply by clicking allow once you've already entered the code
1:07
Once connected you'll see a live preview of your Apple TV screen and you can start recording
1:10
by clicking the red record icon at the bottom centre of the screen
