hey guys aan Elijah Gadget Hunter here
0:08
with CAC at macor 2013 with a best of
0:12
show finalist winner we're not sure not
0:15
not sure uh but they just brought the
0:17
best of show over here and uh it's a
0:19
great product and it definitely deserves
0:20
best of show at Ma World um we hold on
0:23
let me introduce you first you're
0:24
Brandon I'm Brandon and I'm here at the
0:25
Balon booth and we're going to be
0:26
showing you the
0:28
thunderstorm let me do it it's the
0:30
thunderstorm handheld home theater for
0:32
the iPad okay so let me describe it
0:34
because that is something I am actually
0:35
qualified to do so this is a little
0:37
speaker that straps onto your iPad and
0:40
if you listen to music on your iPad if
0:42
you watch movies on your iPad you might
0:44
actually might really like this because
0:45
it also has an integrated smart cover
0:47
that can be folded to make your iPad sit
0:50
up straight and um I was actually kind
0:53
of not really sure what to expect you
0:54
told me that the iPad sounds like kind
0:57
of tiny not very good I agree and you
0:59
sat this down in front of me you're like
1:00
wait till I turn this thing on the sound
1:02
is going to get markedly better
1:03
especially if you're going to be
1:04
watching a movie and I was like okay
1:06
I've heard this Spiel before let's see
1:07
what happens and you turned it on this
1:08
thing actually sounds really good so
1:11
what's the secret sauce what is this
1:12
tell me about it yeah so um you know
1:15
once you have this device in your hand
1:16
and your movie or your favorite song is
1:18
playing you get that wow factor you're
1:20
Blown Away by the sound when you first
1:22
hear it and that's because uh it's sound
1:24
you can feel um there are two 4 watt
1:26
speakers on the soundar and there's a
1:28
special porting system in in the middle
1:30
so it's pushing sound through the back
1:32
of the device through Special Air
1:33
channels and that's what gives it that
1:35
Rumble so let's say when you're playing
1:37
a game like uh Real Racing 3 and and
1:40
you're turning your your device into a
1:41
steering wheel you really get immersed
1:43
in the game and that's what we tried to
1:44
deliver with this device I didn't even
1:46
pick up on that but yeah you're right as
1:48
I was holding it my hands are actually
1:49
shaking a little bit so it it it
1:51
definitely does add something to the
1:53
experience and I got to say watching a
1:55
movie with this thing strapped on it
1:57
changes the experience for sure if you
1:59
travel a lot if you're on airplanes
2:01
maybe watching videos on your iPad and
2:03
hotel rooms this could add a lot and
2:05
this is also great for music you said
2:07
tell us about the app that you have here
2:09
yeah so uh with this app that we
2:10
developed in partnership with avaner it
2:12
allows you to uh change the soundscape
2:15
so uh within the first mode uh for
2:18
instance um the sound would be directed
2:20
you know more towards you but let's say
2:23
uh you have more friends that come in
2:24
and want to experience the music or
2:27
experience the movie you can sort of
2:29
widen the soundscape and you'll hear uh
2:32
your media and that sound sort of spread
2:34
out so you can fine tune it to uh
2:36
optimize your movies gaming and music
2:39
cool well let's try this I know it's
2:41
always hard to give a sound
2:42
demonstration over video especially if
2:43
you don't have one of these and you're
2:44
watching this video on your iPad let's
2:46
play something on the normal iPad
2:48
speaker and then maybe activate the
2:50
sound wait the thunderstorm the Thunder
2:52
activate the Thunder your voice is just
2:55
low enough too to make that sound really
2:57
good okay ready
2:59
[Music]
3:06
[Applause]
3:10
thunderstorm
3:12
[Music]
3:20
activate so you obviously can't hear you
3:22
probably heard that that got louder it
3:23
actually sounds markedly better now so
3:26
this has been the balcon thunderstorm
3:29
check it out hey where can they get
3:31
these and how much does it cost so right
3:33
now you can go on bon.com uh you can get
3:35
