this is Michael with call to Mac and
0:06
today we're reviewing a new app for the
0:08
iPhone and iPad by sonico mobile simply
0:10
called files
0:12
files is basically a storage area and
0:14
file manager for your iOS device with a
0:16
ton of different sharing options and
0:18
services that you can use with it
0:20
in addition files supports a ton of
0:23
different commonly used and even obscure
0:25
file formats
0:26
navigation in the app is pretty simple
0:28
you can create and organize different
0:30
folders which look similar to iOS
0:32
folders and move files between them by
0:35
simply dragging the files where you want
0:36
them to go
0:38
you can also select files allowing you
0:40
to perform a variety of actions on them
0:42
like deleting sharing moving renaming
0:45
and even compressing opening any file
0:47
gives you a variety of different
0:49
controls based on the file type
0:51
presenting the most common functions
0:53
that you're likely to need
0:55
files even has its own custom music
0:57
player built in
0:58
getting files into the app couldn't be
1:00
easier you can connect files to cloud
1:02
services such as Dropbox Google Drive
1:05
and box where you have access to your
1:07
entire library of files
1:09
you can move any files that you've
1:10
brought into the app back out to any of
1:12
these cloud services as well
1:14
of course you can also import files from
1:16
your photos Library via a link or
1:19
through mail and other apps by holding
1:21
down an attachment and opening it in
1:23
files Additionally you can upload and
1:25
download files from any computer on your
1:27
network by either connecting your device
1:29
to a computer with USB or using bonjour
1:32
sharing within your browser
1:34
so when you connect your phone to your
1:36
computer it'll bring up a web interface
1:38
that looks almost identical to files and
1:40
you can just drag in documents to send
1:42
them to your iOS device
1:44
overall files is an excellent
1:46
application for iOS users who miss the
1:49
accessibility of a file system this app
1:51
can help bridge the gap I've used quite
1:53
a few iOS file managers over the last
1:55
couple years and files has already
1:57
become my favorite
