A new iPhone case designed by an AI that apparently doesn’t grasp the value of the dollar will set you back a cool $326,700. The “uber-exclusive” case for iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models, from French luxury accessories company Labodét, is made of “genuine alligator and exclusive Himalayan crocodile leathers.”

$326,700 AI-designed iPhone case is proof we’ve gone AI crazy
These days, every company on the planet seems hell-bent on hopping on the AI bandwagon. Apple’s doing it. Google’s doing it (badly, at times). Even steel-tip darts companies are getting in on the AI action. (New Zealand’s Shot Darts just released its AI-themed lineup, complete with flights decorated with “AI-generated images retouched by our design team.”)
Yes, the entire world is going AI crazy. And if our AI overlords become sentient and shut off our electricity and water supplies, you can comfort yourself by gazing at one of Labodét’s super-fancy, AI-designed iPhone 15 Pro cases … assuming you’re ready to pony up 300,000 euros for the exotic accessory.
“The design of the case is developed by AI, and it features materials most commonly associated with luxury objects,” Labodét said in a press release Thursday. “Genuine exotic alligator and Himalayan crocodile leather are trademark materials of the brand. In this design, leather pieces are carefully chosen and assembled to create a geometric pattern. The leather design is mounted into an 18k yellow-gold setting. The centerpieces of the design are four princess-cut diamonds of 5.5, 3.05, 2.09, and 1.05 carats.”
Each AI-designed iPhone case is handmade in France. And if all the leather and diamonds and gold don’t satiate your bling obsession, don’t get discouraged. There’s more where that came from.
A “Pavé-set diamond camera bezel in 18k yellow gold” completes the design, according to Labodét.
300,000 euros … but no MagSafe?!?
The enormous price tag of the AI-designed iPhone case isn’t the only bummer, though. It also suffers from a rather significant limitation.
“The case is not compatible with the MagSafe Charger and does not provide alignment on a wireless charging device,” the Labodét website says. “The case is not compatible with other MagSafe accessories.”
Still, the company calls the admittedly eye-catching iPhone case design “a vision of luxury by AI technology.”
I’m going to call it one of the most expensive iPhone cases I’ve ever seen. And, hey, at least that AI isn’t plotting the extinction of the human race. Probably.
