The Apple Store went down Monday morning ahead of WWDC22’s opening keynote, which is scheduled to start in just a few hours.
Alongside a bunch of software-focused announcements, Apple is expected to unveil the new M2 MacBook Air at its developer conference later today.
M2 MacBook Air could arrive at WWDC22
Apple routinely takes down its online store ahead of major product launches. The company usually focuses on its various operating systems at its yearly developer conference, though it does showcase new hardware products from time to time at the event. This year, it is rumored to unveil the M2 MacBook Air, featuring a major redesign and new color options.
The Cupertino giant’s online store going down ahead of the WWDC22 opening keynote adds further credence to those reports.
For now, the store is displaying the WWDC22 logo with the “Developing news” tagline. The page tells visitors to stream the event on Apple’s website or the Apple TV app.
The new MacBook Air is rumored to feature a redesigned chassis that similar to the blocky 2021 MacBook Pro. It also might come with white bezels surrounding its 13.3-inch Retina Display, two USB-C ports, MagSafe 3 for charging, and a faster and more efficient M2 chip. It reportedly will come in four colors, with a shade of blue being the newest addition to the lineup.
Apple seemingly also wanted to announce the M2 MacBook Pro, but that’s not happening due to factory shutdowns in China disrupting its supply chain.
