If you thought the iPhone XS Max was pricey, you probably should shield your eyes to avoid the sheer indulgent offensiveness of Caviar’s new Grand Complications Skeleton Tourbillon.

Most iPhone cases are supposed to protect the phone by taking the brunt of the damage in the event of a fall. Not so here! This $9,820 custom iPhone outer shell will make you even more nervous about whipping out your iPhone to bash out a quick text while walking down the street.

“The birth of a unique idea is always an insight,” the company website notes in slightly mangled words which could only be done true justice by being spoken in the tone of a James Bond villain explaining his evil plan. “The history knows a lot of examples when a seemingly not significant push followed to a huge, significant discovery in science of art. But the insight comes only to those who are ready to it, to those whose mind has been working on some idea for such a long time, eagerly, non-stop, with obsession.”

Splashing the cash!

In this case, “obsession” means augmenting your already swanky iPhone XS Max with a mechanical watch. It also incorporates a “tourbillon,” the French word for “vortex.” The tourbillon is a miniature, constantly rotating mechanism which compensates the gravity impact on the time reckoning. The result is more precise timekeeping. (Or, you know, you could just check your iPhone.)

There are plenty more details about the custom iPhone XS Max variant, limited to just 99 pieces. It boasts a black titanium back panel, 7-micron 24K gold coating, and (best of all) free shipping. While prices max out at $9,820 for the 512GB iPhone XS Max version, cheaper options are available.

The most bargain basement of all options is the 64GB iPhone XS, which sells for a mere $8,370. Just make sure you’re ready to be laughed at by oligarchs, tycoons and others masters of the universe for your penny-pinching ways!
