There are people who say they want a phone with the biggest battery they can get, but Energizer proves them wrong. Its latest device sports over 6 times the battery capacity of the iPhone XS Max, but to pack in that much power it’s almost three times as thick as Apple’s current flagship.

Apple often integrates ideas from rival products into its handsets. That’s not likely to happen this time.

All the battery you want and more

The Power Max P18K Pop has a whopping 18,000 mAh battery, “the highest capacity battery ever seen in a smartphone which guarantees weeks of battery life on a single charge,” according to Energizer.

The company promises that users can watch around 2 days of video, talk on the phone for almost 4 days and listen to 100 hours of music on a single charge. In standby mode, the battery lasts over a month and a half. Or the P18K Pop can be used to charge another device.

The handset is 0.71 inches (18mm) thick. For comparison, the iPhone XS Max is 0.3 inches (7.7 mm), much less than half the thickness.

Other Power Max P18K Pop features

The designers of this phone clearly believe that if some of good, too much is just right. The P18K Pop has no less than  five cameras. A 16MP and 2MP lenes are front-facing in a “pop-up” housing. Its three rear cameras offer 12MP, 5MP and 2MP resolutions.

Putting the front cameras on a pop-out slider means the 6.2-inch FHD+ display doesn’t have a notch or screen cutout. On the inside, there’s 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Android 9 Pie device runs on a MediaTek Helio P70 processor.

Although it carries the Energizer name, the Power Max P18K Pop was actually created by Avenir Telecom, a French company that’s showing off the handset now at the MWC 2019 trade show in Barcelona. The price is €600 (about $680) , and the product is scheduled to hit reach sustainer’ s hands this summer.

Apple uses a different method for bringing extended battery lives to its handsets: it introduced add-on battery cases for the 2018 iPhone models last month.
