Google Maps is going beyond just giving driving directions. It’s new “For You” tab provides updates on restaurants, stores, or entire neighborhoods.

This free feature launched for Android over the summer, and begins rolling out to iOS today in dozens of countries.

“The For You tab is designed to be a constant source of inspiration tailored to your tastes and preferences. Simply follow neighborhoods or places you’re interested in to get updates and recommendations,” says Jamie Aspinall in an official Google blog post. For example, users will be given tips on new restaurants, or new dishes at a current favorite.

Google also suggests using this feature when traveling to find places to go in unfamiliar cities.

Google Maps For You more broadly available.

Starting today, the For You tab is starting to appear in the iOS version of Google Maps in over 40 countries. It’s also becoming available in over 130 new countries on Android.

This follows on the heels of this fall’s new Commute tab, designed to make long commutes more tolerable.

Just be aware, using Google Maps requires permitting Google to track your location.
