iPhone X hands-on
Turns out that it's not a good idea to post unauthorized hands-on videos of Apple products from Apple's own HQ.

It’s not just those folks who tried to preorder their iPhone X online who experienced a nightmare scenario; an Apple employee whose daughter posted a hands-on video of the phone ahead of its release has been fired.

Brooke Amelia Peterson published one of the first previews of an iPhone X in the wild, after making a video during a trip to Apple’s campus, where her dad works worked. In a brief hands-on demo of the device, she showed off the tenth anniversary iPhone’s Home screen, apps, camera, and Animoji in action.

Unfortunately, she also showed off special employee-only QR codes and possible codenames of unreleased Apple products, as well as filming on Apple’s top-secret campus, which is considered a “no no” at the best of times.

While the original video upload has now vanished, Peterson’s video apology is still available to view — and has racked up more than 3 million views. In it, a tearful Peterson explains what happened, as well as noting that Apple asked her to take down the video, but not before it had already spread to a bunch of sites online.

Her father worked for Apple building the iPhone RF and wireless circuit design. He had been employed for around four years.
