When a software company announces it’s starting a talk show, it’s hard to imagine anything less riveting.

But when that company is Adobe and the guests are some of the brightest creative minds sharing how they work, that not only has potential to hold your attention, it could also inspire you to make something for yourself.

That’s at least the idea behind the YouTube talk show Make It, hosted by the team of the Adobe Creative Cloud.

Adobe will release about three episode each week, each focusing on a different career the Adobe software has impacted, photography, design and visual effects.

Each episode is between nine and 12 minutes long and features a stand-out in a creative field. Last week, portrait and fashion photographer Lindsay Adler talked about shooting style, posing subjects and developing inexpensive props for shoots with Josh Haftel, a senior product manager with Adobe Lightroom.

Designer and illustrator Keetra Dean Dixon was featured on another episode hosted by Brooke Francesi and Paul Trans and Jason Levin interviewed visual effects artist Billy Brooks.

This could have felt like a shameless, late-night infomercial but the show hosts really do a nice job of getting the guests to talk about the creative process in a way that is actually useful.

The interview with Adler, not once, mentioned Photoshop or Lightroom and I learned a few tips, like how to pose people for portraits.

Below are the first three episodes.
