Stunning comic-style racer SXPD gets iPhone support

SXPD-3

Blending gorgeous black and white comic book-style visuals with compelling gameplay, iOS racer SXPD has just received a 2.0 update, not only bringing the game to iPhone for the first time, but also lowering its price from $1.99 to free.

Hailed by developer Little Chicken as “essentially the world’s first true game-comic book hybrid,” the previously iPad-only game includes a 42-page digital comic book included, which is broken down into 6 chapters for you to play through.

The game itself is full of action-packed set pieces, rendered in stunning pen and ink detail by comic book artist Duke Mighten (of Batman: Book of Shadows and Judge Dredd fame).

We’ve seen plenty of stunning iOS titles this year, but SXPD is definitely a contender for the year’s most striking visual treat — and with its new universal support and non-existent price tag there’s really no reason not to take the plunge and try it out.

The game’s trailer can be seen below:

SXPD can be downloaded from the App Store, available for all iOS devices running iOS 5.1 and above.
