$300 iPad Magnifier Stand For Folks As Dumb As They Are Short Sighted

Finally, the perfect gift for the myopic or sight-impaired person in your life! It’s called the U See Tablet Magnifier, and it’s a stand that turns your iPad into a giant, zoomable, battery-powered magnifying glass for short-sighted folks like me.

Just the other day I was trying to read the voltage on a power adapter to match it to the correct gadget, and I thought to myself that I was finally getting too old to read without glasses. And then I realized two things: I’ve worn glasses almost my entire life, and the text printed on the plug was so absurdly small that even a tiny, miniaturized eagle couldn’t have made out the letters.

So, bullet dodged… for now. In the future I might need the U See to do crossword puzzles, clip coupons and read cheesy romance novels, or whatever it is old folks do when they’re at home all day long. And then I shall happily pay the £179 ($288)… Wait? How much? Almost $300 for an iPad stand that does nothing but suspend it a few inches above the desk. Clearly the seller, Therapy Box, is counting on folks not knowing how to zoom the product ordering page on their iPads when they buy it.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to take a stack of 288 dollar bills, split it into two piles and then balance my iPad on top of them.
