Croon Bluetooth Speaker Is Like A Jambox’s Bigger Brother
If you have been desperately seeking a Bluetooth speaker which looks like a video projector, or a small, mains-powered electric fan heater, then your search is over! Behold: the Croon, the wireless/wired
speaker of your twisted dreams.
Like every other Bluetooth speaker, this one can also connect via 3.5mm jack. Unlike most of them, the Croon plugs into the wall for power, can charge your gadgets via USB and features some big ol’ speakers inside.
A pair of 2.5-inch drivers pump out 15 watts per channel (the Jambox manages around five), and should this not be enough for you there’s also an audio-out jack for connecting to a bigger stereo.
The design, too, is interesting. This class D amp sits in an MDF box with three conical feet to provide stability on any surface (like a milking stool) and to isolate the speaker from external vibrations.
I like the look of it as much as I like the price. At $200 it’s in the same range as many good portable Bluetooth speakers. I fancy one to use with my iPad for movie-watching purposes.
