The Crowded Room is an upcoming Apple TV+ series exploring true and inspirational stories of those who have learned to successfully live with mental illness. The first season will star Tom Holland.

He’ll play Billy Milligan, the first person ever acquitted of a crime because of multiple personality disorder (now known as dissociative identity disorder).

The season will be written by Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind). And it’s based on the award-winning biography The Minds of Billy Milligan by Daniel Keyes.

Tom Holland is best known for playing Peter Parker/Spider-man in the multiple Marvel movies. The Crowded Room will be Holland’s second project with Apple TV+. He stars in Cherry — a film about an Iraq war veteran who degenerates into robbing banks — that’s available now on Apple’s streaming video service.

Coming to Apple TV+

The Crowded Room is part of a growing collection of Apple Originals. Upcoming projects include The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, a new limited series based starring Samuel L. Jackson; Emancipation, starring Academy Award nominee Will Smith; and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by and starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Apple TV+ costs $4.99 per month and already has an array of sit-coms, mysteries, thrillers, crime dramas, sci-fi and much more.
