The OtterBox Defender Series adds multiple layers of shielding, and a version specifically for the 2020 iPad Pro already hit store shelves.
This case wraps around the sides and back of the tablet, plus it includes a built-in screen protector and a removable screen shield that also functions as a kickstand.
OtterBox says the Defender Series is “designed for real life, its multi-layer construction, built-in screen protector and versatile shield stand provide ultra-durability for working hard and playing even harder.”
The major difference between this newly-announced case and the once designed for the 2018 iPad Pro is a larger opening for the “camera hump.” Apple added a second camera lens to the 2020 iPad Pro. And a LiDAR 3D scanner is built into this tablet, making it well suited for augmented reality applications. But it forced a redesign of many cases, including this one.
No waiting for the OtterBox Defender Series for 2020 iPad Pro
Apple’s tablet won‘t reach customer’s hands until March 25, but the OtterBox Defender Series is available for order today. The version for the fourth-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro is $129.95. A version for the second-gen 11-inch iPad Pro sells for $89.95.
Looking ahead, OtterBox promises it has additional case options for this tablet already in development.
