Apple’s super-sized iPad Pro is one step closer to going on sale after securing the approval of the Federal Communications Commission. Both the Wi-Fi and LTE-equipped options were given the green light this week.
The FCC’s listing confirms the iPad Pro, which has the “A1652” model number, will have Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and Cat.4 LTE connectivity, with download speeds of up to 150Mbps. It doesn’t reveal much else about the device, but we already know the exciting stuff at this point.
Apple’s has promised that the iPad Pro will go on sale in November, but it hasn’t been any more specific than that. While some reports have suggested we’ll have to wait until later in the month to order the device, others have claimed it will be available to purchase in early November.
Now that the iPad Pro has been given FCC approval, there’s little to hold it back. Apple will want to ensure that it has a good number of units to sell on launch day, however, which could keep us waiting a little longer than we might have hoped.
