Imagine a lifetime job with Apple, that doesn’t require you going into the office every day, from which you can never be fired, but which still gives you a sizeable guaranteed paycheck at the end of each month.

If that sounds like a dream come true, apparently you share the same utopian vision as a little company called Hall Data Sync Technologies: a non-practicing patent troll company which just filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Apple.

Concerning some of the technology used for Apple’s iCloud, the company claims that two of its patents (for a “System for Facilitating Home Construction and Sales” and a “System and Method for Synchronizing Data between a Plurality of Databases” if you’re interested!) have been unlawfully violated by Apple — and it’s seeking a life-long royalty as a result.

The company has also filed similar lawsuits against Google, SugarSync and Box Inc. in recent times.

No judge has yet been assigned to the case, but we’ll keep you updated if anything significant develops.

As annoying as this must be for Cupertino, when you’re dealing for whom things are going as sweetly as they are for Apple, it’s no surprise you’ll attract a few mosquitoes along the way.
