Vesper Updated For iOS 7

Vesper, the iPhone note-taking app made by the all-star team of Brent “NetNewsWire” Simmons and John “Daring Fireball” Gruber, was already pretty iOS 7-friendly at launch a few months back. Now it has received an actual proper iOS 7 update, and it’s even better.

The app still doesn’t actually let you get to your notes from anywhere other than the one single instance running on your iPhone, but it does make those locked up notes a lot nicer.

Photos are now shown edge-to-edge, and pictures can be sent via messages, or tap-and-held to copy. There are also new controls for photos, and a shortcut to use the last photo you took in the current note.

There are several mechanical updates, too: the app is now 64bit (on the 5S), and renders its text using the new TextKit. This also means that you can adjust the size and weight of the text.

I’d love to use Vesper, but I don;t want to pour so much time and information into an app it’s not easy to leave should a better alternative come along.
